Oddly enough, I went out in public today, with my wife and family. Literally hundreds of people around us and not once did I see a gun, or need a gun, or think wish I had a gun...

I even went out after dark to get some milk. Same thing... Didn't need a gun and made it home safe and sound...

Alright I understood the need for American's to "have" guns while they were ousting the Brits I mean anyone that's had the need to oust their occupier has had a need for guns e.g. the Brits themselves when they fought the evils of the Nazi's.. modern day Iraqi, Palestinians..etc have that need. So what is the need to have guns now in America? Seriously why is it needed or even a right in this day and age to have to carry a gun? It really shouldn't be a right to carry a deadly firearm with no training just because what some eejit 150 - 200 years ago decided that it was only right and fair to have a gun? Back then it was still right and fair in many places to own a slave or to hang people/guillotine them in public but we don't do that anymore in America do we?

you misunderstand the intent and inter-relationship of the civil rights codified in the first ten amendments to the constitution. none of them are freestanding. none of them are independent of the others in function.

the second amendment, my friend, was designed so that the citizens of this land could guarantee the continuation of the first, and the third, and the fourth, and the fifth, etc. it was designed to give the people of the land a mechanism by which they might contain government, and prevent government from usurping the powers not granted to it within the structure of the constitution.

thereby, the need remains. to the casual observer, the need should seem to be increased.

Shooter essentially told me a number of posts ago I had better not find myself in the same county or city as he is in, I assume since he is armed and would kill me? Hard to tell...

your post demonstrates how far from reality you are. For reference, I bring in the quotes:

R41

4.) The reality is, a gun nut such as yourself is as likely to shoot me on accident, or in an idiot rage, as a rapist robber thug murdering my child, raping my wife and shooting me after I hand over my wallet...

JAS

4.) projection is a feature of the undeveloped mind. projecting your realities upon people around you rarely gives you an accurate assesment of who they are and how they would act in any given scenario, but it sure does tell you how you would act. remind me never to be found in the same county or city as you.

The quotes would easily be interpreted by any sane individual as that your paranoia causes me to see a need to avoid being in close proximity to you. Your comment to which this reply responds increases the evidence of your paranoia. I feel sorry for your wife. She must spend half of her day compensating for your unreasonable fear.

yeah go ahead.. never denied the fact that yeah sometimes I feel afraid living here.. a gun wouldn't change that...

still don't want to own a gun... I would feel less safe if we had a gun..

people who are not comfortable with firearms often see the firearm as in control of them, rather than themselves in control of the it. often they view their lives as in control of them, rather than themselves in control of their lives.

by adequate training their mindset can be changed. taking control of a finite object (a firearm is just a tool) can be liberating, and can lead to a revelation in the way that they see themselves. they be come an enactor, rather than an object to be acted upon.

seek it out, marylin, under the guidance of someone who is experienced, responsible, careful, and patient.

you will be rewarded with a sense of empowerment.

what, you didn't have to shoot the cow to milk it?

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

No dude, you suffer from paranoia and I shall feed it. Your wife is a Chinese secret agent, the point of the invasion spear you so recently posted about in this hyper-paranoid thread.

Shooters wife, tip of the spear?

Didn't you ever wonder why she was so "naturally" good with firearms? Good god man!

very funny you should fixate on that post.

i put it up as satire, in case you didn't read far enough into it to figure that out.

actually, while living in china i was watched pretty closely by the PSB, especially after my wife (then girlfriend) moved in with me. my apartment was fair game for them, as was my laptop, and i knew it. every American entering china should know this. it's even in the travel advisory the state department issues. theft of intellectual property in china often occurs by copy-booting of businessmen's laptops.

my wife is actually a pretty good shot, as i found out shooting balloons with air guns with her in the luo po park about a week after we met. she enjoys the real thing more, though, and is quickly running down my stash of 9X19 and 5.56X45. not to worry, i bought it by the case when the prices were 1/2 of what they are today. now, if i can just get her to pick up the dragunov and help me burn up those 10 cases of 7.62X54r...

I am glad you appreciated the humor of my response to your humorous post! The sensors failed to see my sense of humor though!

Kathryn it was probably a little bit of both, but thanks for the second censor! or is it :star::star: Two stars!
