Hi everyone,

this a quick run down of my relationship with my fiancee Heather who lives over in Maryland, USA and me who Colin who lives in New South Wales, Australia. We met online about 8 years ago, i was chatting with people in a msn chat room and i noticed her sitting in the room all quiet not saying anything so i decided to say Hi and she was abit stand offish at first as people are but after this we became good friends and talked every night which we still do to this very day.In this time we both had been in and out of a couple of relationships where we both stayed good friends. And about 18 months ago we started ringing each other on the telephone and talking more and more and we started having feeling towards each other and we fell in love with each other in this time and a couple of months ago i went over to america and spent some time with her and we just felt like we belonged together it was just that good spending time with her i didnt want to leave and a few days before i had to leave i asked her to marry me and she said yes it was one of the best moments in my life. But it had to come to end couple days later she drove me to the airport as i had to fly back home to australia, it was so hard leaving her i had her crying on my shoulder cause she didnt want me to leave and i was abit emotional cause i didnt want to leave either but i had too.Now we have filed for the K1 visa and in the process of getting me back over to marry her and live our lives happily together forever.I have been back in australia now for 6 weeks and it has been the longest 6 weeks i just wanna be back with Heather i miss her.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Hi! I wish you two the power of love that will conquer the distance and a lot of patience that will conquer the time you have to spend apart before you are finally together. Good luck on your journey and don't stress like me but enjoy each step! Ania
