I received a letter stating that my I-751 petition had been received. A week later, I received an email stating that USCIS had mailed me a letter approving my petition. A week after the email, I received the 10-yr green card. You should receive yours within the next week, if recent patterns are anything to go by. The order of notifications has in recent months been very unpredictable.

02-18-2009 - I-751 filed (Removal of Conditions)

02-20-2009 - NOA1

03-20-2009 - Biometrics Appointment

03-23-2009 - Touched

06-22-2009 - Removal of Conditions approved (via USPS)

07-01-2009 - Email from USCIS advising of approval

07-06-2009 - Received 10-yr Permanent Resident Card

02-18-2010 - Eligible to file for naturalization

I guess you may not be the same person in this boat. I received a hard copy of my approval in May and two emails in July, one for card production and the other for approval sent notice respectively. The little research here on VJ indicates that when you find yourself in this situation, then you should be ready for the arrival of your real card. So let's hope against hope that the card is on its way and nothing else.lol!

July 1 we get email that GC has been ordered and will recieve within 30 days

July 9 email that "On July 8 an approval notice was mailed" ...standby for instructions etc.

?? What's up with that??

Don't worry you should get your card within a week. I also get the same thing: 1st, the approval letter, 2nd the email stating that the card was ordered and produced and finally the approval notice email. After receiving the Approval Notice email, I got my GC 3 days after.

Be ready to party !! (:

You will be your card in the mail soon. I am saying this based on recent pattern of notifications sent by USCIS.

We just got another "approval notice" after having been approved on May 27 and GC production notice on July 7. Go figure. I think they have HS dropouts working there, just picking out which email/letter format to send out at random while text-messaging their buddies at the same time.

I-129F Sent: Nov. 14, 2005 - Approved: March 21, 2006 - Visa Received: Jun. 18, 2006 - US Entry: July 23, 2006 at JFK

MARRIED: AUG. 12, 2006 12:00 PM - AOS Filed: Sept. 27, 2006 NOA: Oct. 02, 2006 - Approved: YES~! - Green Card Received: Nov. 11, 2006

EAD e-Filed: Oct. 07, 2006 - NOA: Oct. 10, 2006 - Approved? - Ignored by USCIS as AOS came 1st - free money for USCIS~!

LIFTING CONDITIONS - I-751 Sent: Aug. 27, 2008 - APPROVED: May 27, 2009 - RECEIVED: July 13, 2009

NATURALIZATION - N-400 Filed: Oct. 18, 2011

I don't think you're the only one who has that situation. Look at my timeline, I also first received approval letter in snail mail, then an e-mail update that came late after the fact that I already got and know my approval status, then no e-mail update of GC being ordered, then a surprise of GC came in snail mail, online status now still only says "approval notice sent", not GC production already ordered. Like you, I can't figure out what's going on with government efficiency.
