Wanting to apply for CR1

I am a US citizen living in Texas. I am engaged to a Pakistani citizen who has been living in Saudi Arabia for more than a year. We were both in Pakistan a couple of months ago and got engaged together.

I want to apply for CR1 visa. Is there any way for us to get married over the phone or by postal mail. Does USCIS accept those marriages, and does it allow us to apply for CR1?

Thankyou

I really want to apply CR1 and not the fiance visa. Any suggestions?

CR1 is only for immediate relatives. If you are engaged, it is not considered a relative. You can apply for CR1 after you get married, or apply for a fiance visa using form I-129F if you are engaged.

However, you have a deadline to get married on a fiance visa.

Yes, I know.

But, the problem is that we just got engaged. and right now, he is in Saudi Arabia and, i am in USA. If we get married by phone, or through postal mail, or through an attorney....will uscis accept that as proof of marriage?

Are you really think, that it's ok to get married via telephone or e-mail???

I'msure USCIS won't accept marriage like that....

Why you can't go to Saudi Arabia or he to USA and have a normal wedding???

Why you don't want ti get fiancee visa?

No you cannot get married over the phone or through the mail. You must have an actual legal ceremony in person.

Simple answer: Yes, but with several reservations.

Very few jurisdictions within the US even allow marriage by proxy -- only four, in fact. It is not necessarily very easy and there is a LOT of paperwork to complete. It is also necessary to consummate the marriage after the proxy wedding, which means you will need to meet with your new spouse before filing and present proof that you have seen each other after the date of the wedding. This would need to be in your spouse's country or another country that you both are able to visit legally.

It's a lot of hassle, really. Again, why not go for the K1?

I am confused too. Says you have an interview already? Why would you want to do this??
