Congratulations Mand...about time, huh? She's gorgeous! Best of luck with all the new experiences and enjoy all the first times. She'll be sleeping through the night before you know it! (F)

It is a pretty name Mand. LOL, we had considered a few Irish names, but came to the conclusion that Irish names are OK in Ireland, but here, I couldn't put my kid through the torture of constantly correcting spelling and pronunciation. So, we have decided, assuming it is a girl, to name her Rachel Erin. (Erin for Ireland obviously!) I think it's a happy compromise. On the other hand, if it turns out to be a boy, it's back to the drawing board! I guess we'll know next week for sure!

All my husband was asking for was a Cowboy Name (my husband is from TX) so he decided for Wyatt (from Wyatt Earp or something  ). First name is gonna be Adam, since it is easy to pronounce even in German.

Picking names is harder then I thought. Well I had girl names all ready to go and then when we found out it was a boy I was stuck and still am. We want something that is in our language and has a lot of meaning behind it. We have one in mind but we are so not telling anyone about it because last time we let people know our choice at the time we got so many comments.

Eveline: Adam is nice and I even suggested it to hubby once since it is both in our language and in English so there is no confusion but he passed it up.

Hi everyone - Congrats on the good news that has come recently! As for us I have been in the hospital the last 2 days with preterm labor symptons. Thursday they observed me because I had the flu and was severely dehydrated. They put me on an IV and monitors, put in 3 liters of fluid but my contractions didn't go away. They then gave me a shot of a medicine that starts with a T. It is used I guess for asthma patients to relax the esophogus but is also used to relax the uterus tissue. At any rate I hated how it made me feel and it didn't work! So they checked me and I was 50% effaced and 1-2cm but wasn't changing so they sent me home. I had a dr. appt on Friday am and was 75% effaced so they admitted me to be observed for a few hours. I was still having contractions, but not making any other progress so I was sent home again. I've decided not to go back now until I can't talk anymore! I've been having a lot of contractions and back pain so who knows, maybe we'll be going sooner rather than later. I'm pretty sure the baby will come sooner than my due date but who knows when. Will be sure to keep everyone posted!

@Amera, all the best to you and your little one. I'm sorry that you have to go through all this. Seems like there is almost nothing that is holding your peanut back from being born huh? I hope your baby will enjoy the warmth of your womb just a little longer. I'm thinking about you.

As for me. Baby Adam has been VERY VERY good lately. I can run around with the dog in the backyard (well, I can walk real fast but not really run :P ), do all chores in the household, he lets me sleep up to 9 hours a night and my shortness of breath that I had last week has almost gone away (I couldn't lay on the couch cause peanut was all the way up in my lungs). My parents are on their way right now to come visit us (they are in the airplane right now) and I can't wait to show my belly off :luv: . If it was for my husband he'd throw out all my pre preggo clothes and keep me pregnant for the rest of my life, haha. I like being pregnant but yet again...let's see how I think about it once I hit 34 weeks or so...

@Nizzy, good luck with picking a name. It's still some time until "D-Day" so I bet you come up with a name that you both like. You won't believe just how many baby name books I have looked through and out of probably 40 names that I liked, my husband picked Adam (first on the list, haha). We also thought about some scandinavian names but Lars or Sven usually sound funny in English and so we went with Wyatt. We had a girls name from the get go and were ready for HER but then....our peanut grew something else "there".

Amera: I hope things get better for both you and the baby. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please do keep us posted. I pray for a happy healthy baby and momma.

Eveline: Yayyyy the grandparents are coming! lol I don't mind being pregnant either...if all I have to complain about so far are stretch marks and itching then man being preggo rocks! I, like yourself, think that maybe it's cause I'm still a little far off and the real stuff will kick in soon...lol...I had a dream about him last night and it just makes me anxious to see him...I like the name Wyatt...I think uncommon names are so cool...

im sorry that you have had to spend so much time in the hospital... often times, preterm contractions can be stopped if you just make sure that you are hydrated, but since that wasnt the case, its good that you went to be checked... im surprised that the terbutaline (brethine) didnt work, but i know how horrid it can make you feel... like your heart is racing and hot...

if you can just hold on another week or so, you will really not be considered preterm anymore... 37 wks is considered term and often 35 and 36wkers dont have much problems and can go home with their moms ;)

best of luck!

Hope you can hang on a little longer Amera! Every extra day helps. Even still, you are far enough along to not be too worried......doctors & hospitals are amazing when it comes down to it!

As for me & pregnancy, I'm counting down the days until I can get back to myself. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if I was off work, but it's taking a toll on me a little more each day. I think it's the extra weight. I've gained weight before, but nothing like this! It's getting harder to get up in the mornings! I just keep telling myself it'll be so worth it in the end!

I hit 30 weeks on Thur, so that's a milestone to look forward to. One thing I will miss for sure is the feeling of Baby moving around in there, that is the coolest!

Eveline, have fun with the grandparents, they must be so excited, I know ours are!!

Hi everyone - thanks for the wishes and concern. Sunday night I was admitted to the hospital again with my contractions about 2-3 minutes apart and my cervix at 2cm. THey decided to start me on beta-methazone to rapidly speed up the development of the babies lungs. So I had one shot on Sunday night and needed another one 24 hours later. They also put me on a different medication to keep the contractions slowed down until the second dose of the beta-metazone has time to get into my system. But after tonight at 10:30 they told me they wouldn't do anything else to stop the labor. I've been continuing to have the contractions and am on complete bedrest until all the medication to speed up his lung development have taken effect. The doctor told me they would be really happy if nothing happened for at least another week but made it pretty clear that they felt that it was going to happen sooner rather than later. I'm still having contractions every 3-5 minutes but they aren't doing much to change anything and my water has broken yet so hopefully he'll stay in a few more hours at least so that he has the best chance for developed lungs. I hope that everyone else is doing great with their pregnancies!

Amera...I hope that the baby stays in there for a while longer...just continue to stay in bed and relax. I bet that's easier said then done. Try to keep busy with either reading, watching t.v., or posting on here.

Allison: I remember counting the hours until the ultrasound and I couldn't fall asleep the night before! Make sure you let us know how It goes. Also, drink plenty of water and walk around as much as you can. That might help with the swelling.
