just wanted some feedback or maybe help about renewing greencards.

>>> after the biometrix appointment, are they suppose to give back the expired greencard?

(i had my biometrix sched yesterday 6/25 but my card expired 6/22)

( or maybe that is the reason why they didnt gave the card back because i was making a name change)

pls help me... been wondering the whole day about my card coz a friend just had a renewal and they

gave her back her card and had an extension of 1yr until the new one arrives.

i assume i could just ask my VJ family. thank you very much everyone for the help in advance

NOA #1: Aug 6, 2007 NOA #2: Oct. 29, 2009 - APPROVED

--NVC--December 12, 2009 - Case# generated from NVC

December 17, 2009 - hubby received his letter from NVC[/font]

April 13, 2010 - received DS-3032 via email

April 19, 2010 - sent back DS-3032 to NVC thru DHL (did not email a copy)

April 23, 2010 - DS3032 was received per operator and reviewed, received IV and AOS bill thru mail.

April 29, 2010 - paid AOS ($70) fee bill

April 30, 2010 - paid IV fee bill ($400.00 each beneficiary)

May 01, 2010 - AOS shows "PAID" in the system, printed cover sheet.

May 05, 2010 - iv bill shows "PAID"

June 24, 2010 - sent AOS via USPS/certified and prioritized

July 14, 2010 - received RFE. nvc is requesting again for Tax Transcript 2009

Sept 14, 2010 - Mailed RFE documents via usps

Sept 22, 2010 - mailed complete DS-230 via DHL

Oct 14, 2010 - received RFE about beneficiary's police clearances

Nov. 30, 2010 - sent corrected DS-230 with correct years of residency via USPS

Dec. 21, 2010 - CASE COMPLETED!!!

April 28, 2011 - interview date was set to JUNE 28, 2011 @6:30AM

June 15, 2011 - MEDICAL EXAM and will be back fri (6/17/11) for results

June 28, 2011 - Interview

July 12, 2011 - arrived at LAX - and we'll live happily ever after!

Are you renewing a 10 year un-conditional green-card??? I-90 is fore renewing, replacing, correcting, or changing a name on a green-card.

Or are you close to or past the expiation of a 2 year conditional card?

Your timeline shows filing an I-130 August 2007.

This forum " Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America" has nothing to do with filing an I-90.

December 17, 2009 - hubby received his letter from NVC[/font]

April 13, 2010 - received DS-3032 via email

April 19, 2010 - sent back DS-3032 to NVC thru DHL (did not email a copy)

April 23, 2010 - DS3032 was received per operator and reviewed, received IV and AOS bill thru mail.

April 29, 2010 - paid AOS ($70) fee bill

April 30, 2010 - paid IV fee bill ($400.00 each beneficiary)

SORRY, DONT KNOW WHERE TO PUT THIS POST....

My ex husband had the same thing happening to him. At the biometric appointment they attached a one year extension on his GC and gave it back to him. His GC expired on May 1,1 and he just did the bio this Wednesday June 24. Everything will be ok. An expired card doesnt mean that you are not a PR it just means that you are not authorized to work and travel until it is renewed. Get it renewed now so that ou can get the extension.

hi...

i did my biometrix June 25, 2009 and did got my official NOA1 (receipt) two weeks after my fingerprinting stating that they will now resume the process... i checked my case status online and it hasnt been updated since. i called USCIS hotline they are just reading what is written on the website.

well, the issue that i need some inputs and advice it.........

>>> i might be hired for my dream job this week since they started calling my supervisor about a referral and just incase ill be hired

what document i can submit to HR with regards to immigration since i didnt have my old greencard( they had to take that since

im changing my lastname) and all i have is my driver's license and my SScard.

- should i make an infopass and will be asking for a stamp on my passport for temporary proof???

PLS help me.... im worried and really wanted and praying for this upcoming job offer.

Mitch, You are just replacing your green card to get the name corrected on it, yes? Or are you trying to get a 2 year card replaced with a 10 year card?

If you are just trying to replace your 2 year card you can make an infopass appointment at your local USCIS office and ask them to put an I-551 stamp in your passport. This will prove you are legally allowed to live and work in the US. You can make an appointment by going to http://www.uscis.gov . On the right hand side select 'Schedule an Appointment" and then follow the instructions. Good luck with the job offer.

You're complicating things way too much - simply use just your DL (I'm sure you have one of those) and a SSN for employment purposes.

You do not have to show them GC as DL and SSN will suffice and they can't ask you for a GC.
