Visa Interviews at US Embassy, London.

Hi all. Me and my fiancee are going through the K-1 process. Does anyone know how long, on average, it takes to get your interview at the US Embassy, following NOA2 receipt?

Also, I have created a timeline, but cannot work out how to display it in my posts. Help appreciated!

I was told 47 days after they recieve all the information they need, they will ask you to call them and make a payment for your interview over the phone and you will get a date and time.. Althought they told me you need to have the medical first... Not looking forward to that one bit!!

If you want your timeline to appear in every post that you make then you can add it to your signature. Click 'my assistant' at the top of the page and then click "edit forum signature" and then you're timeline or whatever you copy into your signature will appear at the end of every post you make. As for your question: You will get better responses if post this in the UK specific forum. Every embassy is different and you want to know about the UK one in particular.

When I filed for a K-1 in London (in 2006, so it could very well be different now), we got our NOA2 at the end of March and our interview was at the beginning on May.

Again, my information for the UK embassy is almost 3 years old, so my information may or may not be out of date. Like I said before, you would be better served to post this in the UK forum since it has to do with UK. But 3 years ago when I went though the UK embassy, we got a Packet 3 in the mail (there was not 47 day wait period to call), we filled out the forms for packet 3 and sent them off to the embassy and also made the medical exam appointment for a couple weeks later, then they sent us a letter about 2 weeks later with our interview date, had the medical exam (it's not scary, don't worry), then went to the interview on our date, PAID AT THE EMBASSY, got the visa, then end.

You were misinformed, perhaps by someone using a different consulate. Each has their own procedures. Currently once the application reaches London, they will send out a letter showing your new LNDxxxxxxxxx case number and give you this link to their website for their further instructions. I was looking at your timeline with interest. It took you 5 months to get a green card, but can you work at all before you get one of those? Me and Shawnie's lawyer in Houston said I could be working within a month after our marriage. Is a Green Card a more final kind of thing and you work on a temporary/preliminary arrangement before you get a Green Card?

Just so looking forward to getting out of London and being back 'home' with my Shawnie!

Yes, it is referred to as EAD and is acquired by submitting an I-765 concurrent with the "greencard" application (I-485). Typical processing time is more like 60-90 days however rather than 30.
