For CR1 IV packet submitting without PCC

Hi All,

I like to have a quick suggestion from you guys, I have all the documents of my wife except the regional PCC.

which means I have:

- DS-230 form(with just signed on 1st page)

- 4 Passport photo

- Marriage Certificate (Orig)

- Birth Cirtificate(Orig with translation)

- Copy of Passport

and missing document is

- Regional PCC

As my wife just received her passport and to get PCC it will take another couple weeks, and if I wait for that I may miss interview schedule in July 2nd week.

My question is:

Can I send in the documents that I have with me and mention on the cover letter that I'll show original PCC at the time of interview or something?

Has anybody done something like this? Is it possible to do like this?

Please Advice... Because I dont want to wait one more month, its already delayed due to passport.

Thanks in Advance.

NO you cant

its a requirement that u send PCC with the DS-230 package ,

if u didnt then NVC will issue u an RFE (Rquest for further evidence ) and that will delay yur case even after July in some cases ..please be patience and have your wife get her PCC and send the complete requirements

Good Luck

I agree, I think you can do this for the K visas where they seem to provide most of their documentation to the embassy but for the CR1 you need to provide it to NVC before they will complete your case.

I would advise sending the whole package together with all the documentation they require.

I don't know if they'll let you show PCC at interview, BUT here's what I did. My SO didn't have his original BC and the registry wouldn't give him another copy because he didn't know the registration number and they had no way of looking it up. So he went to courts and got a signed statement from them. I didn't see that we needed another affidavit from a family member until after I had already gotten the court statement. Rather than wait two to three more weeks for his sister to send me an affidavit I mailed off the package AND asked his sister to send me the affidavit. I figure by the time I get an RFE I will have the affidavit so will mail it immediately. This way they will have already done most of the processing of the case.

Don,

I am going to do samething. but in my case i have the copy of district level PCC. i will not attache passport clearance certificate since it gonna eat one month.

i am sending the package tomorrow. in your case it very hard to tell wheater u gonna get RFE or not since you dont have even local distric PCC.

bye the way you need to sumbitt only two photographs.

i have read some where in VJ that you can try sending DS-230 without PCC.

i asked same question to VJ member they had diffrent opinion. try ti find the link. if i can find it, i will post it.

I suggest waiting for the PCC because an RFE will cost you a lot more time.

According to my stats for the February Filers those who received RFE's (5 of them) got case complete in an average of 25 days from the day they sent the IV packet and those who did not get an RFE (10 of them) got case complete in an average of 21 days from the day they sent the IV packet. NOT A HUGE DIFFERENCE. If OP waits 3 weeks first to receive PCC and THEN sends in IV packet it will take 3 weeks. YET if OP sends in paperwork now it will take approximately 4 to 5 weeks so sending now makes a 1 to 2 week faster process.

JMHO based on the stats I have collected.

i do agree with what u r saying ..but thats not the case always ..some get the RFE into the system once they r recieved ..others wait somedays till case complete ...

so its up to OP to send or to wait ....

First of all, thanx to everyone for reply...

WhidbeyGirl -

I always liked you numerology... and it worked always in my case from feb filers... but its because of the passport i got stuck and you were not able to predict for me...;)

waitingforhoney -

I hear you my friend, and I called my wife today she told me she got her District PCC from Baroda.. which I'll ask her to send me motorized photocopy of that PCC, and I'll do wut you are going to do 2moro.. wish you all the best...

Also I called NVC regarding this matter and talk to rep.. she told me I can submit my documents at least with District PCC and they will let me know if Regional PCC is required right now or not... Else she can so that original document at the time of interview.

Also please be in touch and let me know wut happens with your case. Because it will take at least 5 to 7 days for her PCC to come to me..

no_where_man, Phillip2, and dvrjwh

I also agreed with your statements but lets create a scenario...

If I mail in documents to NVC with regional PCC before June 20th, there are 2 possibilities

1. My case will get completed and i'll get interview date by 2nd week of july (being very optimistic)

2. they will generate RFE for PCC

if no 1 happens its all happy case..

if no 2 happens then definitely i am not getting interview date in july and i'll have to wait till August, so i get 1 more month.

On the other hand by End of the month my wife will have her regional PCC and she will send it to me with in 5 days max. which means I'll receive it by 5th July, and after I submit the PCC i still have month left before I can get the interview date in august.

SO according to WhidbeyGirl statistic I don't think the RFE will take about month to clear( being very positive and optimistic, hope for the best ;) )

So again thanks all for your replies I really appreciate.

Now i am really confused, i called NVC and was told that since the beneficiary passport is within 6months old, we don't need the local PCC and as far as the passport office certificate they won't even issue one without the checklist or the interview letter. Can someone clarify?

You are absolutely correct, NVC dont require Local PCC if the passport is less then 6mths..(my wife's passport is 1 week old)

but if you are from Gujarat as I am, regional passport office Ahmadabad requires Local PCC regardless for them to generate regional PCC.

an me saying that "I'll send local PCC, because my wife already got the local pcc to get the regional PCC. So I'll just send in the local PCC even if it is not required, which will be the confirmation for NVC that my regional is under process. and there is a possibility that you'll get an interview date with original regional PCC, which you will have to show at the time of interview ( that is submit that original document along with the medical documents that you will submid before interview)

I hope this clarifies your question...

For CR1 IV packet submitting without PCC

Hi All,

I like to have a quick suggestion from you guys, I have all the documents of my wife except the regional PCC.

which means I have:

- DS-230 form(with just signed on 1st page)

- 4 Passport photo

My question is:

Has anybody done something like this? Is it possible to do like this?

Please Advice... Because I dont want to wait one more month, its already delayed due to passport.

Thanks in Advance.

See now days its too difficult to get the PCC from Ahmadabad office.. i don't know which is ur local office for pcc.. Ahmadabad office won't give PCC without interview letter so u need to contact NVC and write them letter explaining everything about the Ahmadabad office if ur wife is going to issue from there.. I don't think so its problem to get from other part of india. Good luck.. i have read some post and some of the Vj members did the same and they did not get the RFE. They showed it at the interview time.

I was issued an RFE because of that and it delayed our case at the NVC. Better have everything collected first than to send an incomplete package, and send another document later on. It's a requirement.

My advise is to wait for your passport PCCs before sending In the IV package. Without this document you are likely to get an RFE as a few people did a couple of months ago when I was going through the process.

It took my wife three weeks to get her local and passport PCCs.

The passport office states that they require an interview letter, how ever you can show them the original NOA2 for the I-130 approval and the bills that you have received from NVC. That's what my wife showed the people at the Ahmedabad passport office.

Good Luck!!!

Btw...there is a lot of info about the Ahmedabad passport office and the PCC posted in the Asia:South forum.
