Hey guys,

I am including my father as a co-sponsor for I-134. I asked for his tax return information for 2008, and he gave it to me; it is about 40 pages long

I looked through it and saw he has a lot of attachments because he receives income from various properties as well as his job. Should I just include the entire 40 page return with all the attachments when I send it with the I-134?

I don't wanna send too much and confuse somebody, but I definitely don't wanna not send something I should have, so I'm thinking I should send the whole return. Just want to make sure

I sent the whole packet I received from the IRS - better to have everything, then to get an RFE for a missing page.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

As Bobby advised, send every bit of it. Be sure to include any W2's, 1099's along with all the schedules.

Or, dad can call the IRS and ask for a transcript of his 2008 return. It won't be as long and is the preferred method.

If you use a copy of the return you have to include everything. He can order a transcript from the IRS which is also acceptable and is much less paper (I am told, I have never ordered one)

It is much shorter indeed!

I ordered transcripts for my last 3 years, and got them last week (took about 10 days). Each transcript is 4 pages, including a cover letter. My actual returns average about 12 pages.

Transcripts are preferred, also, because they show the tax return was actually filed and processed by the IRS, and you don't need the W2's when you send the transcripts.
