Could pregnancy be a problem for a visa?

Hi all,

I'm the beneficiary, I just found out last week I'm pregnant. My husband is not very happy for few reasons.

He thinks if we get stuck at NVC stage as it has happened to other people, then pregnancy would not be good for our situation. He does not want to be away from the baby, he wants to share first emotions with me, too.

Another reason is the medical test for the interview. They will find out I'm pregnant. Could the medical prevent me getting a visa somehow?

I just wanna hear different opinions here and personal experience.

Thank you all, much love, Ani

Yeah, it is no problem.

Make sure to tell them you are pregnant so they don't take an x-ray of your body.

Congratulations :)

I dont see why being pregnant would be a problem... as mentioned, make sure you mention it during your medical check. If anything, it will work for your benefit... it will help to prof you have a legitimate marriage!

Congrats, by the way!!!

This is the part we're worried about :(

If not having the x-ray, would that be a problem for the Immigration officers at the airport, or USEM? What if I do need another shot for a vaccine? I think I have all of them, but who knows?

My husband thinks that if something get screwed up and they don't issue a visa... then what? And he doesn't want to be away from me and the baby :(

Thank you all for your kind advices (L)

because x-ray and vaccination can be harmful for the baby, these two can be waived and be done when the baby is born, there is a form you have to fill out, just let the medical personnel know...

There was a pregnant lady when I went for my medical.

Later she emailed me that her visa was approved without any problem.

Don't need to worry. You are not the only one.

I agree. And being pregnant is something that happens alot during this process. There are always contingency plans for these situations....after all...we are talking about visa's being issued based upon romantic relationships.

Stress is bad for your baby. If your husband really wants to help you, he should be putting less pressure on you at this time crucial time of development.

Thank you all for nice words. I guess we both are stressed out now, as it's a first time experience for both of us. He just wishes he was with me while going to the doctor, etc., etc., and also he is worried if something get screwed up with the visa, that he wouldn't be able to come visit more often :( He has a good job for the last 18 years, working as a seaman, so he can't take more vacations, and when he does take a vacation it's usually in the winter, or spring. For the same reason he probably wont be able to attend the interview, so that's why he's worried about the visa and there is always a possibility of things getting screwed :(

Anyway, thanks again to all of you for your answers and support, much love to all and God bless (L) (L) (L)

That's wonderful news. as others said, don't worry so much, think positively and very very soon you will be with your husband and he will attend all the med checks with you. I am not an expert but definitely believe that there is no way that your pregnancy will affect your application in a bad way - this is what people do - they get married, they have babies. all godspeed through the rest of the process. congratulations and i wish you a breezy pregnancy surrounded by the love of your husband and your new family.
