Just a comment and then a suggestion:

Comment: VisaJourney's post editing feature is not the best. You literally have like 60 seconds and then you are blocked out of your own post! Maybe it is just me, but for 75% of my posts I always have the urge to make it *that* much better with the edit option, to tweak it a little bit or reword it entirely. Out of all the times I go to edit my posts, I am blocked from doing so at least half of the time.

Suggestion: I have a couple, one simple way of fixing the problem is to extend the time allotted for editing a post. The other, which I have seen on other forums is to leave the edit option open, ie there is no time limit to edit a post. Don't tell me I am the only member that loses sleep over some of the posts I so desperately wanted to edit but could not because I hit the button too late?

Actually it is five minutes from the time the original post was made. You can change and edit a post any time during that period. Hopefully this is a good balance where people can fix or update their post without creating issues. This is a similar time restriction to several other major sites.

why don't you preview your post first?

You're making the assumption that the only reason someone would want to edit their post is because they didn't properly proofread it. If you use your imagination a bit you can probably come up with some other reasons.

As for me, I like the current system. It's just enough time to go back and fix a post, but short enough that I can depend on a post retaining its original meaning.
