forgot cover letter

Hi everyone,

I sent my AOS package out yesterday and forgot to put in the cover letter telling what I was appling for and what was in it. Will that be a problem??

I wouldn't worry. I'm pretty sure they don't even read the cover letter, maybe glance over it.

The forms will tell them what you are applying for.

Never sent a cover letter with any of the applications my wife did with USCIS. K1, AOS, Removal of Conditions and Citizenship. We never had any problems.

Not a problem. We didn't use one either.

Cover letters are purely for the applicants benefit, to make sure they included everything I doubt the USCIS people even read the covers letters, they have more than enough experience to know what should be in there and would use there own checklists.

Once I got denied because I didn't send a cover letter.... Just kidding, I never sent one and all went ok.

A cover letter is nice to have (as it lays out the contents of the file for you and the people reviewing it), but they're not required.

We never submitted a cover letter with any of our applications. All we did was put a table of contents as the first page, but even that is not required.
