Hi again everyone, I just had a quick question. I think I already know the answer, but I just wanted to be sure.

I have an I-130 petition at the processing center in Vermont as we speak. Would it be possible for my wife to get a visitor's visa to come to usa to visit me during this time?

Thanks in advance!

Andy

in general, yes - she could apply for a visitor's visa to visit you while you're waiting for NOA2 and NVC. I see she's from the Philippines, so therefore she needs to check with the US Embassy in her country again. Every embassy has their own requirements, although the immigration law is the same for all. I know a lot of ppl have applied for the visitor's visa, I didn't apply for one as I have a visa canceled this year, so I should not apply for another one within one year. Good luck!

I think it depends on the country.

We applied for my wife twice. China denied it twice saying that she needs to apply for an IV visa.

The first time was before I put in an IV application.

The second time she was still told the same thing after I had applied and they received notice of the IV application.

She explained we have done that but they denied her none the less.

She had a job, recommendation from her boss, bank account information, vacation request and family information.

They simply say she has to wait for the IV Visa to complete.

Other countries are not so hard on it. In our case we just have to survive the process. I make a point to fly out every 6 months to visit.

Hopefully you have better success.

Of course you can always apply for a visitors visa but like Eric&Meijiao said, it depends on the consulate.

Some are harder than others on granting visitors visas.

Good luck.
