Incomplete submissions will not be processed. They will either be returned to you or an RFE (request for evidence) will be sent to you asking for the missing item/information. Once you have sent back the rquested item/information the processing will continue.

Best to send in all that is required to make the process go as quickly as possible.

Passport photos of petitioner AND beneficiary are required.

:guides:http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

You posted this to " Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America" which implies that you are a green-card holder, green-card holders CANNOT file form I-129F only US Citizens. I-129F REQUIRES proof of US Citizenship to be attached (US Passport, US Birth cert, or US Naturalization cert.)

Moving this to the K-1 visa forum.

I've been reading the requirements for applying for the visa. Do I really have to have my fiance's passport photo to include with the forms?

Just a clarification: You don't need copies of the photo that appears your fiance's passport. You DO need current up-to-date photos that meet the guidelines for US passport photos (which might be differently sized than the photos used for some other countries). Maybe that was already clear, but just to make sure...

Yes. Being curious, why do you ask this?

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

I've been reading the requirements for applying for the visa. Do I really have to have my fiance's passport photo to include with the forms?

NO. You can send in the forms that you have, without the photo, with your non-refundable $455 fee and wait for the RFE for the photo. It will add several weeks to the process.

If your fiancee can get you a passport photo in less than 2-3 weeks (possible only if she is currently on this planet) then you will be ahead of the game to wait for the photo before mailing your petition. The photo is not a requirement to mail the petition, only to get an approval of the petition.

You will find, in this process, that if the instructions say you need something, then you NEED SOMETHING. Trying to fudge and slide by will only cause you to be delayed and each delay increases exponentially the chances of falling into the USCIS black from which people have been known never to emerge, that is not a joke. Read some of the threads here where people wait YEARS for approvals and seemingly cannot get out of the black hole.

Read and follow ALL instructions and you will be fine. Good luck
