DOS = Department of State

After your interview, you can call Department of State to find out the status of your case.

The number is 202-663-1225

You will have to listen to recorded message then press 1

Listen to another recorded message then press 0

The visa specialist will ask you for your case number and the applicants name.

You can ask them for updates on your case.

peace

Yes, it is great news when DOS can tell you there is activity on your case.

But what do the updates mean? A few weeks ago (for the first time) they told me the case had been updated on a day in March. I was heartened to hear that something was moving, at least (maybe..) but have no idea what to think of it. How many updates can there be? Is this just a mile-marker in the middle of an ocean?

Apologies if this sounds negative- I'm feeling a bit disheartened by this whole process. I know I'm lucky - my fiance and I talk daily and he is incredibly patient, but I'm so exasperated. It doesn't feel like anything else in a democracy.. no accoutability! Month 10! A whole springtime, winter, and fall... and showing him how the trees and seasons are changing here via a webcam.. but I wonder if I should be preparing myself for another year or two. If only we knew! Someday, if I ever become rich and famous, I will lobby like mad to make this process more efficient and transparent as it can be.

Hello!

Dear updates mean that if ur name will be clear from one of the agency in washington D.C.

Nobody can tell how many checks or updates are left and when it will be solve.

As for as ur anger madness is concern i also think like that.But what we can do? All we can do is just wait.Coz its country securtiy issues.They have to do it.

Very best of luck dear.
