Local US CIS Office Review: Orlando FL
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : July 22, 2009
Embassy Review : We had a wonderful experience with the ENTIRE immigration process, and our local office was no exception.

The building is very nice, clean, and everyone was very friendly and professional.

We arrived a half hour early our appointment was at 11:15a. We waited till close to 1p but this office was extremely busy, and the time went by super fast.

Our IO came out called my husbands name and it was our time to shine! She led us down a hallway to her office, before we sat she asked us to take an oath, then ask us to be seated. She began asking us questions from the G325A, had me verify my things, had my husband verify his information and right in the middle she threw in "when is your wifes birthday?" which of course he knew (he would have gotten a swift kick had he not known LOL). She went over the I-485, ask my husband had he ever sold or traffic'd drugs, are you involved in terrorist activity, of course all our answers were NO. She wanted to see pictures, cards, bills, etc showing we had co-mingling of finance etc. She was a little put off by his divorce papers because they don't look like ours but that was all good in the end. She looked at our wedding album, and misc photos we had brought. She asked how many times he had been to this country and he told her once. She asked us how we met (we met online, both avid XBOX gamers) and about how we got engaged, etc. She asked us about our honeymoon which we had just had (my family went away for 2 weeks and that was our honeymoon, and every night we had a different meal themed for a different country, so we told everyone we traveled, Alaskan King Crab was our trip to Alaska, Sushi was our trip to Japan you get my drift) she laughed and said that was very creative!

In the end she told us that she would be reviewing our case, and we would hear by mail on the decision , nothing like making you wait and worry LOL.

Yesterday, July 21st, our I-485 finally showed up online, and we got those long awaited words everyone wants to see "Card Production Ordered"

We were approved 139 days from the date they received our papers, we are done for 1 year and 9 months, and we are ELATED to be able to sit back and know that its all good, all done, and such a smooth process!

I know not everyone has had such a wonderful experience, but we were very prepared, and I feel like if you have a legitimate marriage, you are well prepared and follow instructions to the letter, you will be just fine.

We are very excited to start our life, and put the big book of immigration away for a while!

Good luck to all, and may you all be as fortunate as we have been!
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
