I talk to my husband on skype for many hours he is in london right now and he bough a skype mobile phone so he can talk to me even when he is at work. i keep the cam on when he is home and keep doingthe thought of when will my hubby actually be here in my arm. my stuff. i have a baby so i am mostly mostly busy with her, but my mind is always being torn, becuase i want us to be together one family under one roof.(sniff sniff) this wait is also making me become obsessed with us. i imagine and day dream what we will be doing, places iwill take him and things we will go shopping for. i also do try to imagine topics we will fight over and how we will make up, and practically everything.LOL

i cook, clean go out, i dont work a busy job, so i cant get away muchfrom the thoughts......my hubby hasnt seen his daughter yet, so everytime i look at her, i am reminded of that and i just get sad and sad...

my health did detoriate, my studies, and a lot of stuff, im like handing on a hook and telling myself every minute, its almost over....almost there.....

VJ ers make it a lot more soothing like a balm by sharing their similar experiences, i feel like im not alone here....May Allah make this journey easy for all of us....Ameen...

It's been a year now since my husband left me here the Philippines.. On the first 3 months - it was really hard since we are just newly married.. but then as the time passes by, we're used to it and all we can do is to keep busy at work coz life is just like this.. I know for sure, one day we will be together... and its more exciting for us since our CR1 is on the process now..

Hi,

I have been lucky that my husband and I have spent so much time together even though we have been living in different countries. We both have been back and forth from Australia to the USA in the past 3 years. (Lucky that I used to work for an airline). The longest we had been apart was 5months but then we had 3 months together over thanksgiving, xmas and new year. He left Australia 9 weeks ago. And if all goes well with the visa process, I hope to see him about 6 weeks!

We talk everyday about 3 times a day (I have a really great plan on my mobile phone - its cheaper for me to call US instead of locally in Sydney! and I also get $900 worth of free calls!) I don't go out much, just with my brother and sister-in-law, my neice and nephew and my Dad and my Aunty - movies, shopping and dinner, that's about it. Then I spend about an hour a day at the Gym. It has been a blessing to have my family around. When I am not out shopping or at the local club with them, I am on my computer organising things for my husband. Even though I am on the other side of the world, I can still organise his rental cars, pay the bills, shop at Walmart online and it gets delivered to him, book his travel, shop for his clothes, even organise gifts for family birthdays. Thank God for the internet! Then if there is any time left over, I build websites and databases and make some money doing that.

Most importantly, I am reading up on the politics in the USA and learning about the laws there. They don't seem to be much different but different enough for me to want to know. I am also getting my papers together so I can apply for work when I arrive. I spend alot of time on Google maps checking out the local area - where the facilities and shops etc are. I am also studying the local county. My husband has recently moved to another state so this has been really helpful for the both of us.

Then not to mention the packing and sorting out of my things, selling on ebay, getting organised.

So I guess I don't have much time afterall.....But we do everything together - just by phone. He even calls me when he is playing the Pokies (Slots) and we do it together.

We feel that we are really blessed by God and really lucky. SO much so that we have decided that we will get involved in policy making and work with others to change this long pathetic immigration process. Once we are through this and together, we want to help others.

Cheers

As for me, my objective is to kill time with a lot of work. It is very motivating to make a lot of money to save for when we are together. Taht's about it. My only objectives are work and money (which is not at all like me in normal time; I am not a materialistic person at all. I just find it motivating to kill time with hard work in prevision for unemployment when I quit my job).

My fiance and I talk every single day; unless if there are circumstance beyond our control. While he was here for a 3-week visit, he installed VOIP so we just can call each other anytime we want at no cost at my end. Every morning, upon getting up, I'd call him to greet him a good morning. At least, he's the first person I got to hear/ talk in my mornings. We also use mics and voice chat either on yahoo, skype, and gmail but more on yahoo.

When he arrives home from work, he'll call and buzz me, since my yahoo is already up in time for him. There were times that he'd bring his laptop to the kitchen and I'd instruct him on how to cook a certain food. He started cooking filipino foods since after a month we met so that's really cool. We also do exercises together, watch movies/ tv shows, do karaoke, play online, watch each other eat, etc. We do these with cams and mics. When he sleeps, I watch him sleep and wakes him up in his mornings. So I am the first one he gets to see/ hear/ talk in his mornings. He'll do the same to me on his day offs. I stop from working to be able to do these things with him, as per his request also. If we were both away from home, we'd call/ text each other as much time permits. We also email each other regularly and send love notes and keep sending each other pictures.

I think we had done things like regular couples do; the only difference is that we're physically absent. However, with the help of God, I'll be with him soon!!! And that just make things prefect!

Good luck to our journey with our loved ones! God bless us!

We are still in the process of gathering information and filling out applications and saving money. We both have custody of our children so our lives are very busy. Working full-time and being basically each of us single parents doesn't leave much time to moon for one another. We deal with it by texting a lot. We try and talk on the phone a few times a week.

We are in this for the long haul since the economy in the US is so bad, my spouse cannot afford to sponsor me and my children. That means saving lots of money. We hope to be together within the next five years; however, we pray to God that he will provide a way we can be together sooner.

I love being a Canadian.
