yes, they will send you a letter a NOA (notice of action) saying that they recieved the k1, you will get a case number with that letter that you will be able to check online. I did a k1 for my husband last year, and he is already here, married to me, and we are doing AOS, its the fastest process if you ask me. Good luck with everything.

Sent out the k 1 visa yesterday, do i wait til i get notification from USCIS or what ?

There is a lot of waiting to do - in the mean time you can use this time to educate yourself on the process that lies ahead. A very helpful tool is the K1 Flowchart (which breaks the process down by step - very helpful). http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=k1flow

When you come to a Step you need help understanding - use the Guides to learn more.

Well, yes, but don't stand by the mailbox waiting for it, it is going to be a while. The first letter you get is the NOA1, pretty much a fancy useless letter that says they got your package. If you used certified mail, you will already know that. Other than a USCIS file number that lets you "track" the case on the equally useless USCIS website, it is no more functional than the return receipt you get from the post office. Your NOA1 date is the date they receive it and put it into the system, NOT the date you receive the letter. They may receive your package, for example, on the 3rd of the month and not send out the letter for 3 weeks. Your NOA1 will be the 3rd.

Then you wait for your approval and, hopefully, no RFEs. In the meantime, go to the embassy website and study what you will need for the interview and prepare all those documents. There is quite a few documents to get ready and have translated, get on it now. You will be ready when the approval is received and it gives you something to do. Good luck
