Thanks again everybody - Hopefully Govi will have visa in hand on Thursday then I will buy our tickets. He is dealing with a family emergency(grandfather is very sick) :( so will not be coming right away... Our plan is for me to fly over to Nepal at the end of the semester(May 20) then we are going to travel and visit family and will come back together the first week in July.

Awww thanks jJ, I'm tearing up... :crying:

I was surprised how easy he said the interview was and he said just now in chat(before the electric cut off) that it came down to our photos - the CO could tell we were in love from the smiles on our faces...

Govi said he put all our evidence in a notebook, neatly organized, and the CO was also impressed with that - he didn't really ask much beyond how we met, when we married. Our red flags didn't come up AT ALL. He was curious about my name change but I prepped Govi on that and they had the court order on file.

I am sad that I could not be in Kathmandu now celebrating with him but am so proud Govi did it - I said he should try to speak English, be confident, and he made me so proud. I didn't let him know how much I was freaking out - saved that for you guys on VJ, LOL...

Thanks again all of my MENA buddies - you guys are the greatest!!!! (L)

Congrats!! Have a Happy reunion!

Saludos,

Caro

Thanks again everybody, I am so grateful I found VJ and met so many helpful people who are going through the same journey - I think I would have gone absolutely nuts if I had to go through this alone. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting especially who is on AP... I hope in the future I can help newbies like you guys have helped me.

Hopefully tomorrow Govi will have VISA IN HAND!!! Then I can sigh in relief and call the travel agent and start counting the days until we don't have to be apart anymore.

It's so funny, I was stressing so much over our 'red flags' but none of that came up in the interview, just that we love each other and that ultimately won over the CO. With the original petition I submitted 9 photos - one of them was taken by Govi's little sister and it showed us lying on the bed(fully clothed) ;) holding each other and laughing uncontrollably - it is one of my favorite photos and I think shows our true personalities but initially I was wondering if Govi would think it was too 'intimate' - it turned out the CO loved that photo so my instincts were right.

So if I can give any advice it would be let your love show.
