My K3 case made it to NVC last week and it was sent out to the Chennai consulate on Friday. However the DHL tracking info says it wasn't picked up by DHL until Monday (03/23). Since the DHL site says Next Day service was used I am hoping the case makes it to Chennai today or tomorrow and that we get a K3 interview date by the end of the week !

Keep the updates coming !

-D

06/12/09 - POE at Newark (K3)

07/01/09 - I-485 and I-765 mailed

07/06/09 - USCIS received (date on NOA1)

07/13/09 - NOA1 received for both I-485 and I-765 !

08/08/09 - Biometric appointment

08/25/09 - AOS interview letter notice date

09/24/09 - AOS interview

10/03/09 - Received GC !!

Jen, Hope your case goes out today! See I told you would be over and done before I got approved at VSC.

I think I'm going to call today b/c

1. It still says my I-129F doesn't exist.

2. There has been no acknowledgement of the typo letter I sent weeks ago.

Can't hurt, right?

I don't know how you waited this long to call....BUG THE ####### OUT OF THEM !

I don't think I will be finished before you..

Holy week is putting a cramp in my style for my processing .... What do you think the time frame will be Caroline? If it gets to CR this week... they call Tucho next week...and he picks it up next week. he can make the appt for the week of the 20th or the 27th? i can't be in CR on May 1st or 2nd. He needs time to get the medical and the police report. The attorney will have to get a move on with those waivers.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Just by glancing at mine now(never thought of the meaning or code) it looks like the year approved, followed by the expiration date of the approval.

but the month is tranposed

The 3 letters are an abbreviation for the embassy/consulate that will be issuing the visa, the first 4 digits are the year in which the case was created, the next 3 digits are the date when the case was created and the final 3 digits indicate that your case was the nth case number created on that day for that embassy/consulate.

The date the case was created is either just an ordinal date (where Jan 1 is 001 and Dec 31 is 365/366) or the ordinal date plus 500 (if the number is greater than 500 in your case number). I haven't figured out why they do one of the two but adding 500 could be a way of indicating that your petition was filed in the year before.

06/12/09 - POE at Newark (K3)

I get the year it was created ( first 4) and I get the number for the consulate ( last 3) but the middle 3 numbers make no sense to me.

Maybe its a coincendence that my last five digits are the expiration dates of each case?

It looks like 05 009 <--as in May 2009. and 06010 as in July 2010

oh, who cares anyway

Oh my goodness!!! I just realized that I wrote Cunny instead of Conny! :wow: And it didn't let me edit it!

My husband called me and well...he's just such a Casanova! Forgive me everyone...my mind has been wandering all sorts of places today
