hello, all.

so, i am getting ready to send of the my petition for the k-1 visa (not sure if there's a better phrase for that), and i'm feeling pretty good about it. we have all the necessary paperwork, and i'm now trying to assemble proof of relationships and on-going relationship, etc.

i met my fiance while i was a studying abroad, and he worked at the school i attended, so i've gathered the plane ticket receipt, boarding passes, photocopies of my visa, photocopies of my passport stamps, a hotel receipt, bus tickets dated 2008, documentation of purchasing a cell phone while i was there, pictures of us together, pictures of me with his family, pictures him and my family, pictures of our families together, letters, and facebook messages.

i have a few random questions about other things i could or should add. should i include coppies of my mother and sister's plane ticket receipts to senegal? should i include a copy of my school transcript (showing that i went to school while he was employed there)?

oh-how do i print of skype records? do records of purchasing phone cards at nobelcom.com count (if they're specifically for senegal)?

last question- what is the best way to organize this? i was thinking of putting together a little binder with all of this, but i wasn't sure if that was overkill. s

ok-sorry for the heap of questions, but i want to make sure we do this right!

Moving to K-1 forum.

1) they only want evidence that you have met in person within the past 2 years.

2) You can go to Skype.Com and get log of all Skype-Out calls to landlines, you can also do screen-prints from skype program and paste into a word doc for print out.

3) NO BINDERS, simply 2 hole punch the top of the papers, and use an acco clip.

I just used paperclips to hold together the pages.

No issues with my petition so far.

(they hate staples  )

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

You can call Nobel customer service and ask for the actual numbers you dialed using the phone card. I think they will ask you to fax them an official request and they e-mail or send you the records. This is what I did.

Good Luck!

Oh and I used paper clips too...

They don't need all that

Best way to organize?

Put all the interview stuff (proof of relationships, skype, etc.) into a separate pile for the interview. We'll get to those later. For the I-129f you only need proof of meeting once in the last two years.

The other things, the things you need for the I-129f, use paper clips to hold associated documents together, example, copies of passport pages, clip them together. Then put a big binder clip on everything. You do not need two hole punches, tabs, etc. Cover letter with index is nice.

Immediately on arrival your package will be taken apart and placed into a USCIS folder that looks exaxctly the same as any other USCIS folder, so any effort to puch, tabulate, index and color code will be wasted.
