How do they expect you to have US passphotos when you're in Scandinavia? I've been searching the net and haven't found any place around here that takes photos that are 2x2 inches?

Have you called them and asked? I don't think it's something they would have on their website? I just go to a photo studio and say "Hey, I need photos for a visa application" and they just ask what country and when I say US there has never been an issue.

You can go to all photo shops and tell them you need that type of picture and they will know what and how.

If not go to the next one

I think the closest city has a photo booth that takes colour photos that are 5x5 cm, which should be fine. Or else I'll just have to ask around like Maria said.

Hey guys,

I need advise on what kind of affidavit of support to bring for my K1 interview in Stockholm.

My finacé's mother is going to be my sponsor. I emailed the Stockholm embassy and they told me to bring i-134, tax returns and w-2. they didn't write anything about proof of current income. is that just implied? and what counts as proof of current income? what did you bring?

I did the same. Just went to the local photo studio and asked for pictures for a US visa.

Hey guys! We got this cover sheet in the mail today and I have some questions that I was hoping you could answer Is this the so called package 3 and is it meant for collecting both the AOS papers and IV or just the AOS? I've payed the AOS fee but the IV fee isn't payable yet. Do you know what they mean with photocopies under number 3? Because everything we are sending in are photocopies... Thank you bunches!!

You don't really use package 3 and 4 and stuff for the CR/IR-1 visa, I think that's more for the K-1. This is the document cover sheet you put on top of all the documents you send to NVC. And yes, the first part of the sheet is for the AOS papers and the second part is for the IV documents.

Photocopies means if you have anything else you want to add that's not included in the points NVC has put on the sheet. E.g. if you want to add more bona fida proof.

The IV fee will open up about three weeks after you paid the AOS fee.

When you visited your partner in the US via the Waiver program, were the TSA ever suspicious? Did they ever think maybe you were there to get married? Just curious how that works, if they questioned you did you tell them like it was - that you were there to see your bf/gf?

First of all I think you mean Customs and Border Protection (CBP) not the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). TSA pretend they can detect evil stuff in your bags whereas CBP actually protects the border of USA.

Always answer their questions truthfully. They asked me what is the purpose of my trip and I answered truthfully: I'm here to visit my fiance. Questions I got were:

Is he America? (yes)

How long are you planning on staying?

Have you been here before? (on J1, F1, VWP)

Are you excited about meeting your fiance? (Very!)

When I came on VWP we had filed for K1 so I always brought a copy of it but they never asked to see it. Meeting my fiance was never an issue and CBP was always nice and professional.

Yeah I was confused about TSA and CBP for a while too. And yes, honesty is always the best policy. People have been denied visa's because they've lied to CBP and some has been denied entry because they lied. Just be honest and it doesn't hurt to say you're considering the K-1 because it makes them know you probably won't get married and adjust status on you VWP. CBP is not as awful as they sound, only bad experience I've ever had was on my first flight to USA and I landed at Newark Airport. In general the ones I've meet have been super nice and had a great sense of humor. On my last VWP visit the CBP officer even seemed more interested in my different hairstyles on my former visa's then of the fact that I was visiting my fiance. One of the nicest officers I've ever met. So yeah, as long as you're doing what's asked from you, you've filled out the customs form correctly and you answer truthfully they will be super nice and professional. I've dealt with them so many times I've even realized I want to be a CBP officer if the US wants me as its citizen one day

I had a new CBP officer once who sent me to second screening. The CBP supervisor at second screening cleared me in like five minutes. But no, I've never really had any issues with CBP. It's always been very smooth, including the time I flew over to marry my husband. You are allowed to enter the US under the VWP with the intent to marry, you just can't stay. That's how my husband and I did it.

Just be honest and bring with you any ties you have to your home country plus your NOA1, to show that you've started the visa process. I have heard of a couple of VWP people here on VJ that were denied entry when visiting their boyfriend/fiance/husband, but honestly, it's actually quite rare to hear of VWP denials when there's no underlying issue. You shouldn't worry too much. What is your POE?

Hey guys and gals, I have another quick question. About how long did it take for you to get the packet 3? The DHL tracking shows that the consulate in Sweden received it on 11/05 so I'm just trying to see when I should be seeing something from them via email. Thanks!!
