Anyone here from Queensland?? I filed an I-130 for my wife who lives on the Gold Coast and it was approved at USCIS and sent to NVC. We paid the AOS and IV bill. Now sending off the DS-230 with accompanying documents and I'm confused about the police certificate. Do I just have it sent straight to the Consulate in Sydney? Because it says that on the consulate web site that if you live in QLD or NSW to send it to the consulate. I just want to make sure that the petition doesn't get delayed because the police certificate wasn't sent to NVC....Thanks so much!!!

Qld Police sent mine directly to me so I could submit it with my DS-230 package as per their instructions.

Only member I know of who had issues with Qld Police was Sassy - they told her they had to send it to the Consulate ... not true, all the other Qlders I know of on here all had them directly sent as she will put the address for mailing on the application.

Hope this helps ... :star:

horrible interview experiences? :uh oh:

I'm guessing I don't really have to prove anything to the consulate about having a good relationship with my mother etc etc do I?

I figure if I'm blood relative and have been waiting long enough, surely they'll just say yes without needing anything silly like that?

How exciting that your interview is so close too!

Now that I've finished up work for the moment, I will start packing. V Australia Economy tickets suck regarding case weight limits! I shouldn't complain though, I got the cheapest tickets ever lol.

And woo hoo for you bex!

Astrid, sorry to hear about your mum. Any news on how is she's doing? I hope everything will be ok.

Vanessa, what a nighmare having such awful in-laws and even worse having to live in the same house as them. I really hope you guys can move out soon.

So I should just have her fill out the application with her address and have it sent directly to her and not the consulate?

I also had and issue with Queensland Police.....they told me it MUST be sent directly to the consulate but as others have said this is not true.

Really? I had a look at the reviews here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Australia&cty=&dfilter=5 but they're all GREAT reviews. Are you looking somewhere else? Or are you a member of an Aussie CR1 thread or something and those people haven't done proper consulate reviews?? I saw a CR1 in Jan 2010 and it was a great one too.. maybe I'm missing something? I even tried looking for bad ones but the most recent was 2008...

I'm sure you'll be fine. You'll log on here and tell us how easy it was I'm sure :D

Doesn't really affect us but look: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/257123-fraud-ex-ordered-removed/ proof that exes CAN be removed if found guilty of fraud by ICE!

Hey Astrid - hope your mum is doing okay. I remember when I was living in NZ and Mum was here in Oz, everytime she got ill or had a problem I felt so helpless - cant imagine what it's going to be like once I'm living in Texas. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Horrible interviews out of Sydney? oh goodness I hope not - I know I'm still at least 2 months from NOA2 but the whole interview idea still scares the ####### out of me!
