I'm wondering about these 2 photos I have to send with my DS230 that are supposed to be 5cm x 5cm...

What did you all do? I'm guessing I just have to go to a photo shop, give them the specifics from the iv.state.gov website and hope that they are correct?

Photo places like Rabbit do US sized pics. However, they're a rip off!! 2 for $17 (he did give me a discount because I had 12 done in all). Wish I had read on VJ first about what others did before I went ahead and paid for it.

Oh man my post buggered up. :bonk:

When you using the epassport website, to get the 2inch by 2inch pics needed for the visa choose USA instead of Austraila. The site will then automatically make the pics the right size. I used this program for my visa pics and wished I had found it for my passport ones as well.

You will need a digital camera (SD card)to upload a pic and to save the final product to so you can then take it to a place like Kmart and print them out for just cents  is my post gunna work this time :D

I can see you have an F1 visa so I assume you're applying for AOS?

On the I-485 instructions it says to write the alien number and name on the back of the photo lightly in felt pen or pencil.

I think to give you "where in the instructions" we'll need what you're applying for (i.e. K1 visa? CR1? AOS while in the US etc)

--- I just need a moment to say what I'm thinking...

My MIL just told me "no food upstairs"... which is fair enough right? I mean upstairs are basically bedrooms. Downstairs is the lounge etc HOWEVER these are my issues

1. a few days ago, maybe a week or so I was treated like ###### (that's the nice version, it wasn't too my face, it was posted on FB which I and my friends and family read) and decided that staying up in the room was a safer option... sanity wise.. soo.. if I could say what I wanted to it would be "well, if you weren't such a ######, I wouldn't mind staying down here, I just like avoiding you".

2. It's FREEZING in the house. Even though I mention it ALL the time. In the room tony's computer heats it up.. it's not so cold.. if I could say what I wanted "if you had any common decency and any idea of the proper way to treat your guests, you would create a warm and welcoming environment, not try and freeze their arses off".

3. I cook MY food and Tony's food, we don't eat yours. I do the dishes (even those that aren't mine) and I generally try and make it no so difficult to have us stay here yet whatever chance you get you treat me like something you stepped on

I'm just angry. I'm angry because I clean up the dishes. You can't tell me that me taking a small butter plate with food on it up to the room will bring ants and mice, not when you don't care if the bin overflows into the cupboard, or you don't do the dishes immediately, or pick up cups/plates/bowls etc DOWNSTAIRS.. trust me, they won't waste their time coming upstairs when you created such a welcoming place downstairs. I WASH my dishes almost immediately. I don't spill anything and if I do I pick it up. You will leave the house to wrack and ruin ALL week and then suddenly on Saturday it's "cleaning day". Here's an idea.. clean up your ###### as you go along. Oh but see "cleaning day" doesn't mean MIL cleans, oh no, it means SHE will tell everyone else what to do.

Hate is a strong word so I'm going to choose "loath". I LOATHE her with a fiery passion. Once we can actually move out she will most likely not hear from us for an extremely long time until I've had time to deal with this personal hell I live in every day.

Okay.. rant over. I can't post it on FB because there are too many spies.. yeah.. seriously. :S

**edit - she's seen me take food upstairs NUMEROUS times. Now, I just won't on days she's here :) Problem solved :D

^ Um.. wow. Sorry to hear you're having such a tough time with her. MIL stands for monster-in-law, right? Did you meet before you moved over?
