Im in one of those moods today.... it isn't like NH is far from Vermont...

Don't stress Esposa, your case should get to NVC today, check in later after 6pm. Atleast your lawyer wants you to come in, so its a good sign that the paperwork needs to be prepared.

Thanks QUE...

I know tha tonce it leaves the NVC things will go faster.

I am going to call the attorney's office now....

I am going to need all the originals for the interview, Correct? Birth certs ( both) marriage cert, divorce cert for me.... what else needs to be original ??

Should I bother getting his birth cert translated? We didn't send a translated version when we filed.

Marriage Cert, Birth Cert, Divorce Cert, any other documents that prove identity should be original as well. If your birth certificate is in a different language, it will probably be good to have a translated copy, so you can turn it over if asked for. For every original make sure your husband brings a copy, so if requested the consulate can keep a copy.

I am so happy for you !!

I hope everything goes really well for you !

so, am I reaching really far with hopes that the NVC will ship my package to CR by the end of this week? Or am I in dream land again? I'm doing the K-3, so they have no reason to hang on to it, right?

That's correct, the only hold on to the I-129F long enough to assign it a case number, and scan it into their system. After that the petition gets sent to the Embassy/Consulate. It should be out by the end of the week.

I feel like its one of those days... I thought it is going to go fast once the approval for I-130 is done but i feel like it is taking light years for me to do everything. maybe im just to eager or i'm just not aggressive enough when I call NVC.

So... I sent my DS3032 on Friday. (i tried emailing them my DS3032 but the automated message that they received my email never came up and I tried 3 different emails. urgh) So I decided to send the form when I visited my hubby and sent it as Priority mail. I checked the tracking info and they received it yesterday. I called @ the end of the day and my AOS bill hasnt been generated yet. so how long does NVC take to generate the AOS bill? or how long does it typically take to enter the DS3032 info in their system?

Also i feel like the CR1 is going to take longer than my K3. I may have to do the K3 route as I probably wont have a job by June. Does anyone know how long does it take so I can start working in US if i enter with K3? I know I have to file adjustment of status (once I enter as my 2nd year of marriage is march 2010 and i read that you have to file it asap @ POE).Then file EAD & SSN. Everyone is saying it cost more money in the future. Can someone tell me whats the inconvenient part about it other than paying $1k for the AOS?

Que,

What's the difference between this one and james short cuts?

Anything else I should know? how long between now and an interview date, anyone, anyone? estimate?

The LingChe shortcuts have been updates as of flolks who went through NVC in August and September. Something have changed from the James's shortcuts, but 95% of it is the same. I just used the LingChe guide since it was more recent.

Start getting your documents ready, once you get the AOS Bill in the Mail, and the DS-3032 gets accepted, the process will go as quickly as you can submit the information that is required. I was delayed by 2 weeks because my wife had trouble getting the Passport PCC.

For the immediate future, call NVC and speak to an operator to get your case numbers for the I-130 and I-129F, and then keep calling the next couple of days to see if the AOS Bill and DS-3032 have been generated, and then you email in the DS-3032, and wait for the AOS Bill in the mail for the IIN. Also pay your fees online, because paying by mail has been taking people 2+ weeks for the systems to get updated.

If your case is completed by the end of the Frist week of April, you should be scheduled for an interview in May.

Good Luck!!!

No Problem Mayra!! Good Luck!! A piece of advice, make sure when filling out the I-864 and DS-230, all of the info matches what you put in the I-130, and G-325A. Take the extra time to cross check so you don't get RFEs. Also on the DS-230 there are some spots where you will need to fill things in manually if you are not using the updated DS-230 off of the DOS website. Members have forgotten to fill those questions in as there are places where you need to write Present, or Never, etc. You will see when you are filling out the DS-230 and I-864.

Hi Aruba, hang in there!!! A number of people are in that boat, due to the timing of the bill showing up to be paid, and the bill actually getting generated. As a result, the system which generated the bill doesn't get updated. If a Supervisor has been asked to review, it should get reviewed shortly.

As for me, i'm back in waiting mode. But this is definitely a waiting mode I am happy to be in :)
