He hasn't been cleared though... There have been several high profile civil cases for damages resulting from treatment in detention - ranging from brain damage, paralysis and death - at least one where Joe was found to be personally liable for injuries sustained in custody.

What major jail or prison in America is free from lawsuits or violence for that matter?

Is that the same "armchair wonkery" as suggesting that people who witnessed a murder on a bus but did nothing - are cowards as a result?

I didn't hold the passengers liable in some lawsuit so your comparison is more than flawed.

Probably none.
