Okay, so it seems to be that there a lot of people that are being approved, but the process is till quite slow. I don't know about all of you- but I'm losing it.

Hang in there sweetie, we'll get approved soon :star:

Yea. It's amazing how we are tested. I was venting and about to give up all hope when I got an email from the USCIS.

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On June 23, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

Now, I haven't received the letter in the mail yet, but we have been approved. The waiting has ended. Next week I will be in India, and he can join my mother and I to do our wedding shopping. It's amazing. We never imagined that it would work out like this.

I called him as soon as I could breathe. I went into the freight elevator hallway and I was so out of breath and sobbing so loudly that a woman came to ask me if I was okay. My face was tear-stained and it has all just been a relief. More than anything I feel like I can breathe again. We can have a relationship again, outside of these USCIS walls. I pray that this happens for all of you soon. I pray that no one has to wait very long. This is an agonizing process, and even though we all have to go through it, it seems inhumane at times. Best of luck to you all. I will be waiting for you.

Haha! Thats great!! Congrats!

Thank you! Danu- what's the next step? For me? For him- What does he need to do before he leaves the UK- get his police clearance and the same but from the Indian consulate/embassy. He will be interviewing in India since he wanted to spend time with his family that he hasn't seen in 4 years.

Ok, for you and all the other new NOA2's here is a comprehensive list of the next steps.

For the USC

Fill out I-134

Get letter from employer stating position, salary, time worked there, on company letterhead

Get copies of W-2 for the last year at least (I recommend getting the last 2-3 years depending on your consulate just incase) OR get IRS transcripts (which are free!)

Write up a new letter of intent (can be the same as the old one, just with a new date)

Send your fiance(e) copies of you last 2-3 paystubs (do this close to the interview so they have the most recent ones)

Photocopy the NOA2 and send that to them with everything above.

Any extra proof of relationship that you may have (phone records, pictures etc)

If you are self employed, you will want the tax transcripts and a letter from your bank stating your account has been open since XXX, and that you have deposited a total of XXX in there for the last year.

For the Bene!

Download packet 3, it differs for some consulates on what exactly is needed but a rough guide is

Birth certificate (translated if needed) + copy

Police records from every country lived in for more than 6 months since the age of 16, except for the US

Passport pictures x 5 (3 for the medical, 2 for the interview) no more than 6 months old

The financial package from the USC, as above

Any extra proof of relationship you may have (as above)

Form DS-230 part I

Some consulates ask for the DS-160 which is a new online form. If they do, you will need to print out 2x the confirmation page, and 1x the actual application (just incase)

Others ask for the DS 156 and 156k, fill these out and have 2 copies of each.

Copy of the bio section of your passport.

Any documents relating to previous marriage/divorce/deaths/children.

The medical.

The consulates usually just ask for the DS-230 to be sent back with the checklist, though some ask for the whole package to be sent back. They will let you know if there is anything other than this on the checklist and which of the 160/156/156k they are looking for.

I know my consulate (Montreal) asks for the 160, but they were asking for the 156/156k in P4, so I filled them all out. All I have to send back when I get P3 is the checklist and DS-230.

For the medical, some consulates book the medical time for you (it seems like the phillipines does this) and some you have to book yourself. They will ask you for a letter, they are referring to the copy of the P3 checklist for proof.

I recommend reading up on the reviews of your consulates to see what others have said, it will help with determining how much extra proof to bring and what to expect from that consulate.

Lets hope yours is like mine. I couldnt see it until the day it got approved. It doesnt say it was approved online, but that was the first day that I could see it, the date on my NOA2. If thats the case for you too that would be wonderful, have it just pop up and get your approval notice that week in the mail!

Thanks. I hope you are right too. It would be a great surprise to suddenly see it online!

So you have do you have your case number? What do they say when you call to say it isn't available online (or whatever message you're seeing)?

I'm sure it'll show up shortly. You'll probably call one day and get your NOA2 over the phone. :)
