Congrats new U.S. Citizen Tini27!!! I was looking forward to reading about your oath experience, so glad that everything went smoothly and the RFE email didn't come up. My husband's interview is coming up in 2 weeks and we really appreciate your detailed description of the entire process. His oath should be in Brooklyn as well.

For my oath ceremony we had 2 videos, one of immigrants and various scenes of the country, and one with a message from Obama.

My passport took 4 weeks to arrive, and my naturalization certificate came 2 days after that. It won't be long now for you to finally have everything over with!

You do. What Sheryll meant was that, after receiving her naturalization certificate, she applied for a passport with the newly acquired naturalization certificate in tow. Later on, they've sent her the passport in the mail which was followed by her naturalization certificate (standard procedure to mail them separately).

You're absolutely right, you need the naturaization certificate to apply for the passport. She means, she got the naturalization certificate back from the passport services. When you apply for the passport, you have to give the original certificate and it's mailed back seperately.

my wife got her us passport today. she applied in 07/18/200 at post office. thanks for every one. this site has been very helpfull. specially when i applied for K3 visa.

Hello!

First of all congratulations to everybody who has received their citizenship! What can I say, had my oath ceremony today, it was really nice, 1251 people from 121 different countries! We all had to get up when our country was called and remain standing, too bad Germany comes after China, could not see anybody get up after that lol!

Congrats again to everybody and thanks for all the support, especially Tini and good luck to all that still have the ceremony coming up! Yes, it's done, I am an American after 12 years!

Si, as the others have kindly explained for me, I presented the PO with my naturalization certificate for my passport application, and received them back 4 weeks later, but mailed separately.

Bianca, enjoy your citizenship This was definitely a year to remember;) having your interview within days of delivering your little baby was remarkable and now not having to deal with USCIS is the icing on the cake. Have a great journey as a USC.
