hey botipapa, how was your interview ? hope all went well

Hey guys,

well it actually did not go very well.... :(

I'm with the Oakland Park office, interview was scheduled @9:15am.

Got there 30 min early, let me in. There is one large waiting room for both the INFOPASS, and

the interview people, there were about 40 of us.

INFOPASS served at windows, and called by numbers, and the interview ones were called by names,

and were led to separate offices.

9:40-ish they called my name, walked in, very nice female IO, surprisingly friendly.

Sworn in, went through the N400, names, addresses, SSNs, phone#s, etc.

Asked me for my GC, ID, Passport, and my wifes Birth Certificate.

Asked me if I was arrested, and I said yes, back in '05 I was driving under suspended license,

give her the arrest report, and court disposition.

And then she asked for a transcript of my Driving Record for the past 7 years....

I had no idea, that they will need this...

Anyways, went along, and she made me read a sentence:

"How many Senators are in the US?"

And I've had to write the answer.

The six Q's were:

-Who is in charge of the executive branch?

-We elect a President for how many years?

-Who lived in America before the Europeans arrived?

-When was the Declaration of Independence adopted?

-Name one of the two longest rivers in the United States.

-What is the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives now?

She said very good, and stopped.

You passed the test, however, without that missing Driving Record I cannot proceed.

I have to schedule another appointment, where you must bring this document,

and without further questions asked I will be recommending your case for approval.

This was the better part of the story...

The bad part is, that the first available date they scheduled me is on the 24th of August!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was furious but she said there is no way around it.

There was two other guys waiting (both missing some docs...), and they scheduled them for the same day like me.

Paid for my mistake, have to wait 2 1/2 more months.

Better luck to everybody else!!!

PS: and don't forget to obtain a trascript of your Driving Record, if you had previous suspension(s)...

Cookiee, what's with your Interview Letter????!!!!

Did you guys get the decision right on the interview?

I had my interview today and I am not sure if all went fine

she said she doesnt have enough bona fide documentation for 2006 !?!

The only thing I could give her were taxes and 2 bank account statements for that year

she wasn't sure that will be enough, and she needs the documents to be still reviewed

although she said she would recomend me for approval

the note from the interview says that "A decision cannot yet be made"

:(

-------------------

my writing was "We pay taxes"

the reading was the question abuout taxes

the 6 questions were

-state bordering Canada

-ocean on the east coast

-when do we need to register for selective service

-how many senators

-what year was the constitution written

-what is freedom of religion

Sorry to know that your interview ended as" A decision cannot yet be made".

Did your interviewer tell you how to make it up?

How about giving her the phone bills, cable bills, or your insurance statement in 2006?

I am US citizen!!! :dancing:

Had interview scheduled today for 11:00. Arrived 10:20 and got called 10:30. Interview took only about 15 minutes - no questions asked reg. travel abroad, traffic ticket, etc. I had an entire binder with supporting documentation with me, but nothing needed.

I had to read a small sentence (do not recall) and write "We pay taxes".

Six questions were asked (freedom of religion, state bordering Canada, When was Constitution written, Atlantic Ocean, ...) and IO stopped when I knew them. He only flew over a few of the other questions in the N400 form and it felt as if the whole thing was done in a few seconds.

I was able to obtain same-day oath at 2 pm, which lasted for about half an hour with approx. 20 individuals getting naturalized. Voter registration completed, Passport and SSA are following.

I can't believe I am done! Very pleasent experience with USCIS and record processing time. Thanks to everyone in this forum - the advice and experience gathered here is invaluable and has helped me so much to prepare for my naturalization!!!

Again, thanks for all contributors and good luck for all March filers - you will follow soon!!!

Herzlichen Glueckwunsch!! Sounds like it went really smooth, good for you!

how long does it usually take to get a notice for oath taking?

It all depends on how current or backed up the Oath schedule for your District Office is.

Got my letter today! Oath taking will be next week June 24, please update on he list. Thanks!

Letter says I need to bring some items like green card, oath letter and "any immigration documents you may have." What documents are these!?!
