Hi all,

I post this thread to my friend.

Long story short: he has been married to a LPR for 6 months.

They just had their AOS interview today.

He said it was extremely easy, the Puerto Rican origin young immigration officer was

very friendly and nice.

Didn't ask nor checked anything specific.

After he congratularted them, and put a I-551 stamp in his passport which

is valid for one year, and said he will recieve his 10 YEARS GREEN CARD within two weeks!!!

Now at this point of course it is just a theory (since he hasn't got the GC in hand),

but how could it be possible, and what the heck would you guys do, if

you actually do recieve a 10 year card?

Would you roll with it, or get an infopass and try to clear the situation up?

Thanks for your response!

Ps: I'm sssssssoooooo jealous right now... :wow:

I'm removing conditions as of now, VSC 11 months, no approval yet.... :crying:

I think you were talking about me. Yes, we had the interview in Miami with (I am sure) the same Puerto Rican guy with the same result. We also know a girl from Everglades city that had the same result in Miami. We did try to remove conditions as some others have, but we received our petition back along with the uncashed check with a letter saying we did not have to remove conditions and action on the petition was being terminated. I'll be keeping that letter in a safe place!

Neonred, do you recall at your interview whether the adjudicator mention to you about removing conditions or not. I was approved at the interview but no mention about removing conditions.

I don't recall him saying anything about it. The interview seemed a bit different than that of other peoples. No swearing in, no reviewing of yes-no questions. The first thing he asked was "what did you bring me?" and I told him I hoped anything he needed. He looked at original birth and marriage certificates. He made a comment about her being Russian and being born in Kyrgyzstan and asked if that was a city. Later in our conversation he let it slip that he had been an Eastern European studies major in college so I knew he had been testing us a little. My wife likes to talk and the conversation drifted on to how his wife wanted to visit Moscow, and then there was a lot of talk about dogs. He has a Maltese and my wife wanted a small dog too. It was like a conversation with a close friend, and in the middle of the conversation he stopped and announced that she was approved and he would put the I-551 stamp in her passport, but that it might be a good idea to wait for the green card to travel as some airline personnel get confused by the stamp. I asked him about the medical (we had only submitted the DS-3025 from her medical before the embassy interview) and he checked it and said it was fine. I then asked him about FBI clearance and he looked at the folder again and said it was complete. Told us we would get the card in a few weeks. He asked to keep one of the pictures we brought, and I gave him a copy of our joint credit cards and a joint bank statement. That was about it.

If at first you don't succeed, then sky diving is not for you.
