Jeremy came to visit me in Ireland for my birthday and Valentines day, it was our first V day together in person. He left on the 16th feburary. I was hoping to be in USA for September, hopefully that is still achievable.

Just called NVC. They still have the case. I started tearing up and asking if there was anything more he could tell me. "I understand. This is our own internal processing, I wouldn't worry about it, but I don't have a timeline for when it will be complete." It just seems like it's come to a dead halt. I just want to at least have an interview scheduled so that we can begin planning logistics of things.

The other day I wrote the Embassy in Warsaw to get a few questions answered... One being.. can the medical be done in advance of the file being sent to the Embassy or Packet 3 being sent out... the answer is YES and two... Would there be a way to get an expedited interview in order to get the children here ASAP to start school... the answer was ..... when you have your case number from the NVC write us again and we will see what we can do..... which is a lot better than NO! The third and final question was regarding the children and if we needed her ex to sign a release of some sort... and that answer was NO! So, I don't have to worry about.... ummmmm, an inducement

Roman, I also read somewhere that some airlines give you a break when getting a one way ticket for immigration purposes... It might be worth calling the airlines too.

As much as it would be nice to know... take solace in the fact that you have already endured the longest and most painful wait at the USCIS. The rest will go pretty quickly...

Morning all!

It's going to be almost 6 months since I've seen Lampros, but I'm going to see him this Thursday for a week! He's back home in Athens now and has opened the packet and looked through the documents. It says something about him needing a military status "A" which stated on the travel.state.gov site, is an order stating he has FINISHED the military... I'm at loss for what to do if we can't even do the visa while he's doing this obligation.... UGH.

Congrats all on your approvals too!! and WOOOOOOOT for ROMAN!

It's going to be almost 6 months since I've seen Lampros, but I'm going to see him this Thursday for a week! He's back home in Athens now and has opened the packet and looked through the documents. It says something about him needing a military status "A" which stated on the travel.state.gov site, is an order stating he has FINISHED the military... I'm at loss for what to do if we can't even do the visa while he's doing this obligation.... UGH.

Well... it makes sense that the US government would not issue a visa that would in theory allow someone to go AWOL from a foreign service. Having said that, there should be a work around to this problem... like get the interview and withhold the actual visa??

Well... it makes sense that the US government would not issue a visa that would in theory allow someone to go AWOL from a foreign service. Having said that, there should be a work around to this problem... like get the interview and withhold the actual visa??

Well... not that we haven't thought of him to just leave the service and come here... But have decided very against it in actuality..

I'll suggest that idea anyways, that way we won't have to start this all over again.. I can't imagine after his service to start this process all over.

We are in the same boat. I called yesterday and they say that there is no timeframe and they don't know why its in AP and there is nothing we can do. It is quite painful to hear, but I do as Rischard says and take solace in the fact the hardest part is over at USCIS. I try not too think about it too much, but this just means I have to wait longer with no real end in sight or any way to make realistic plans for our future. It is only a matter of time now and I know we will both get our interview dates soon.

I try not to think about how long it has been since I last saw Oksana. Now I am curious as to how long it has been for others. I left Russia the last time on New years eve. BTW it was the worst new years ever. It has been seven months and counting and it looks as if it could be a few more.

I wish I had more vacation....I would be there every couple months! And you guys should not complain - from where I am, it is $1100-1200 round trip just to Manila. I could get that down to about 980 if I am willing to add a stop and 8+ hours to a 22-24 hour trip, but it is not worth it to me! I would rather spend the extra 200...
