today is a sucky day...i dunno how to stay hopeful rigth now...i just keep telling myself, ok a few more weeks, but they didnt even finish januray s approvals

and they completely stopped approving lately...pffffffffffff

I feel for you. I know how exactly how you feel and it just sux. There is no other way to describe it and its hard to stay positive all of the time. Especially with the lack of information from USCIS. Waiting is so hard when you don't know how long you're going to have to wait.

Pace yourself. You're still ahead of published schedule, so you're being pissed off about being on time so far, and feeling let down because you aren't being informed that your case, as scheduled and intended, hasn't been updated yet. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to get riled up about having all the information you can get about an application that isn't yet due for adjudication.

It truly must be with the help of divine intervention that after entering into this well-defined bureaucratic process, we were blessed with the expected outcome within the predefined timeline. Praise deities!

You can find your US Senator's web page by going to: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_info...enators_cfm.cfm

Just enter in your state, and look for the link from your senator's name to their home page. From there, look for a link to "Constituent Services" or something like that. For Mark Warner, there is a heading (not a link) of "Constituent Services", and below the heading, one of the links is "Help with Federal Agencies" link, then you can click from there to a page with info on help with the USCIS. You may have to fish around on your senator's home page, but it is not too hard to find.

I'm going to wait to play that card for a little bit yet, but not for *too* long.

We still have a lot of time before we can get any real help.. We are all anxious about this. Imagine how everyone else feels. I'm sure that all the people who are ready to call their Senator after 3 months is the reason the customer service is so bad. Irate people everyday asking "What is going on" I can imagine getting calls like that everyday would jade me too.... We must be patient... And trust me I know how hard it is...it sucks!

I can't disagree totally here. US CIS has a stated goal for a processing time of 5 months by the end of *this* september, and a current processing time of 6 months. When we are getting to 4+ months and it looks like my application is not being adjudicated with others, I will *prepare* to seek aid. But we should not all rush to do this as it really won't do much and might even hurt.

HOWEVER, I do think I will contact the director of the USCIS, and possibly the Senate subcommittee on immigration to suggest they request more transparency from US CIS (note, this may not mean they do anything faster, but the least we deserve as part of our fee is to have basic information). I am a realist though - I don't actually expect any action to be taken either by the subcommittee or director.

Such simple things would go a long way. They make a big deal of announcing every week that they have 45,000, then 45,200, then 45,500, now 45,700 H1B visas have been received. How about a (rough) number of ones adjudicated? or left to adjudicate? How about the same information on other visa applications on a weekly or even monthly basis? Instead we get a monthly processing time that is announced 6 weeks after the date it is calculated? Really, this is a load of #######, in my opinion. If we paid $50 for this, fine - you could argue we get what we pay for, but $455 for the level of "service" we get is ridiculous. They upped the fee 2 years ago allegedly to improve the service.

Don't get me wrong, there are some accomplishments (reducing FBI name check turn around, though much of that was due to FBI efforts), some reduction in backlog, but not many.

Richard I forgot you are a dirty stinky March filer. Your word means nothing in this forum. J/K. With the way things are I am sure you got your cruise done properly cruises are cheap right now. Some of my friends just booked one and my jaw dropped when they told me how cheap it was.

We are all playing the waiting game and I am glad that we all have each other to get it out of our system.

I followed him...I filed in April

Cruises....I wanted to go on a cruise for our honeymoon but since we can't leave till we get advance parole.... no cruise for us :( I told the kids maybe next year instead we'd go on one.

You can do an Alaska or a Hawaiian cruise... they don't leave the country :)

Well....last I looked there was a BIG chunk of Canada between Alaska and the rest of the states....they don't consider that 'leaving'? Really? Well I wouldn't pick Alaska cruise anyways...I'm leaving Canada for goodness sake....NO MORE COLD! lol Hawaiian though....yeah I could deal with that one. Where are you going on your cruise?

Yes, we are not "behind". Of course, this table is 3 months old, and the US CIS for a LONG time blamed it on the FBI. Now though "by the end of June 2009, 98% of FBI checks will be completed within 1 month", so they can't use that as easily.

We are not behind *yet*. However, so far, 38 approvals for all of may from the VSC have been reported. Pretty pathetic.

My point of that post was about the numbers they are working. They are behind about 4700 for the goal of october. The have about 22000 to complete by october. They approve about 6 per day. Thats 180 per week or 720 per month. So by october thats about 3600 if you add the last 3 months thats an additional 540 giving a total of about 4200. The math doesnt work or they are saying they will start to approve a lot more over the coming months to accommodate the projected number.

By-the-way the 38 approvals are only VJ..who know about ALL the approvals.
