I still think if we'd only ban fax machines, tragedies like this would never happen.

We should start a national fax machine license and registration program and require that anyone who owns a fax machine be required to have training on how to use it. There should also be background checks on fax machines so that way criminals can't buy them.

He could have sold the house, or they could have moved back to their country of origin, or asked for help from religious or ethnic groups, not kill innocent beautiful children.

Its really sad.

I agree. Every day the world gets more and more corrupted and corroded.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I can't read the link at work. I didn't hear anything about their citizenship or immigration status. It wasn't mentioned on any story I read about the case.

I said "He could have sold the house, or they could have moved back to their country of origin, or asked for help from religious or ethnic groups, not kill innocent beautiful children"

I didnt mean anything sarcastic, i simply meant that they might have relatives else where or outside the us that they could have relocated with, plus that wasnt the only option i raised, meanwhile i wasnt quoting anyone, i was quoting me! Maybe because of where i come from, i know that no matter how terrible the situation is, i can always fall back on something or someone from my country of origin, suicide and killing my innocent children will NEVER BE AN OPTION.

It makes me sick thinking about the horror and fright in the eyes of the children as they got shot one after the other.

I think that there's nothing so bad that suicide is the only viable answer. Hard to render a judgement on the guy - not knowing what was going on in his head at the time. Suffice to say he (and most people who commit suicide) are incapable of seeing beyond their problems and getting out of a negative emotional cycle.

I agree with you, there is nothing so wrong that you ll have to go the suicide route, he could have killed himself and left his family, sad but its hard to really see what went through his mind before deciding that was the last option, he must have really been depressed.

Life is hard.

Lupoe was heavily in debt but that's hardly a reason to kill your family. If that was more commonplace, American streets would be filled with dead debtors and their families. In the letter, he blames the company administrator for a work dispute and telling him "you should have blown your brains out". Even somebody said that, mass murder-suicide isn't justified.

What's really dumb is the parents were fired only on Dec. 23rd and the guy didn't give himself or his family chance to move on.

I remember a similar story years when I lived in Indiana. A guy lost his job and killed his wife and three kids then himself. It wasn't a national story. No big deal. I even saw the yellow police tape around the house.

Of course it isn't. There isn't a justification - just saying that its impossible to understand the sort of desperation/despondence that would lead an otherwise reasonable person to conclude that this was their only viable option.
