Why? Why MORE hearts? Out of curiosity what pleasure would you get out of an extra heart?

I'm not getting any benefit here but I know there are several that are over 30k in posts who have supported and stirred up this web site so why not :blush:

Heck, might as well.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

honestly i didnt even know hearts were awarded for posts until I saw a link about it in a topic a couple of weeks ago... I thought it was about seniority although peoples join dates didnt always match up.

I'll have to admit that once I knew it was about # of post i started posting more... Perhaps it does promote bad behavior...

Actually, here's an idea Ewok: how about if you make the heart system opt-in or opt-out? I'd love the opportunity to turn mine off.

but why? wouldnt it just be easier to let ppl be and let him have his extra heart? why is it everytime i turn around your making something simple into something dramatic? :D

But it's a valid question...I often wonder what the lure of the hearts are myself. And the option to turn them off would be interesting.

Now, Captain, where is my big Gold Shiny Moderator heart? Hmmmm? :whistle:

I think we should get bonus hearts for contributing to the guides and faq's. Surely those contributions are worth more than mere posts? I would also like to cash in some of my hearts for one of those diamonds R-Jo mentions. Really, you can never have too many diamonds.

After almost 3 years on here-I still don't see the big deal about the hearts. If we must have them-I think off-topic posts should not count and like Krikat says up there ^^^^ contributions to the guides and FAQs should be marked in some way on a members profile.

And I would prefer Emeralds to diamonds, or Aventurine, or Carnelian, if possible.
