NEW YORK (SR) - New York politicians are lauding President-elect Barack Obama as a hero Thursday night after he managed to inspire the crew of US Airways Flight 1549 to safely land their plane in the middle of the Hudson River.

All 155 passengers and crew have been accounted for, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

"We have a heroic President-elect who has given hope to an entire nation, including the crew and passengers of that plane.

We've had a Miracle on 34th Street and now I believe we've had a miracle on the Hudson," Gov. David Paterson said at a joint press conference with Mayor Bloomberg on Thursday evening.

A flight attendant onboard said the pilot's last words before bringing the crippled aircraft in were, "Hey, if an ex-crackhead/socialist/pinhead can get elected President, I can land this plane in the Hudson River."

Seriously, there's nothing really funny as to take an extremism side (extremist conservative) and accussing someone of being something that their not. I only respect those conservatives who do not accuse someone without such merit. Don't be someone who ruins what conservatism is all about. Have some credibility.

Liberals don't have the credibility to define conservativism or how conservatives should behave.

I'm no more of an extremist than you are. Disagreeing with your view of the world doesn't equal extremism, nor does it mitigate the fact that no conservative need behave as you like to have credibility. To demand they do is to not only be dictatorial, but to stereotype anyone who doesn't accept your definition as extremist. Do as you say rather than dictating to others how they should do. That would improve your credibility.

You should know better. If you disagree with the Socialist then you are extreme. But if a sheep and a follower then you are a moderate progressive.

Extremism leads to people with no open-mind. Therefore, they are hopeless. They don't even realize their electronics, cars, medicine comes from many liberal ideas. No idea at all. Not only they closed their minds to liberal idea, they live in the cave as well just like Osama Bin Laden.

And speaking of socialism, go into the definition.

The idea that obama is a socialist is pretty extreme also.

Someone trots out that garbage obviously has no conception of what its like to live under a socialist regime. If they did they wouldn't throw around the label so readily.

Right or left wing, good thing that plane had both to land safely. Liberal or a conservative, whatever the definition is of those two words, lost their meaning a long time ago. Our foundling fathers were certainly liberal in conceiving an entirely new type of government, where a conservative would stick with the monarchy. By definition, a liberal looks at all the problems and tries to come up with a better system, where a conservative says if it was good enough for England, it's good enough for me.

Yet another definition is a conservative person spends our money wisely, where a liberal just gives it away or pockets it.

Really today, the terms we should use is integrity or dishonesty in government. Bush had integrity, but just disappointments, I am not saying this, he did, like Iraq not having WMD or their people not waving American flags when he invaded, there I don't dare use the word, "we". Has no control over the price of gas, yet it dropped like it always does before an election, probably noted it's going way up again. When Obama asked Bush for key information about what's going on, Bush told him to ask God. Gee I thought Bush was God!

Anyway, Obama didn't even have a chance to prove whether he is honest or not, time will tell, but to forecast at this point will only be speculation, the news is great at that, must have a very good crystal ball or way out opinions. I would also have bad opinions of Obama if it means losing billions of dollars in profits on oil or a war. No money was lost on Wall Street, in somebodies pocket, if it were my pocket, would only have bad things to say about the new president.
