In the plaza in front of the kotel (western wall), Jerusalem... I got down on my knee and proposed, warning her that what I am doing is probably violating shabbat in the most holy Jewish place since it was Saturday and I was giving her a ring..

Tears, a yes, and history

OHHH a rebel.

Ours was in Bar Harbour ME on the July 4th weekend..

we were watching a waterfall and hubby asked me to spend the rest of my life with him..

it was our first weekend face to face..

then later.. he got a ring and proposed all over again to me on Christmas Eve, with my family around. My little nephew & Niece were there (under age 5) and were scrambling trying to figure out what was in the box.. it was all my SIL could do to keep them from mauling the ring and ruining the moment (although I didn't mind one bit they wanted to be part of the event ) :)

I love kids and even though it would have possibly ruined the moment right then and there it would have been a GREAT story. Still is!!! :crying:

Why does a guy have to do the asking? As a couple, you are very sure at some point you want to get married.

Well, anyway, was going to ask my girl at a very romantic moment, will you marry me, but only got as far as will you mar, when she said yes. That was cool, no thinking about, no hesitation, no maybes, no let me think about it, just a quick yes. We were both that sure.

Then we went shopping for an engagement ring, perhaps doesn't sound very romantic, but very practical, she has got to wear that ring, still does, and I wanted something that she would like, after all we will be husband and wife, and should share what we buy and agree upon it. Was professionally fitted, but for the final choice, asked the jeweler to give me the ring, and put it on her myself, she didn't want to take if off, but I paid for it. I wanted platinum, something that would last, she agreed, and doesn't care for gold.

Went to dinner at restaurant Rosa Nautica (I'm sure you know where that is Waldo). Sat outside eating and drinking a bottle of wine....

Slipped the ring in the wine and the rest is history.

My wife was speachless as she never in a million years was expecting it to happen so fast.

I have never thought that eating fortune cookie would be that fun if you will find a lifetime fortune inside. He proposed to me using a specially made fortune cookie and a bear with the ring. Instead of the good old usual fortune, will you marry me was written. It was so heartwarming that I do not know what to say. I became speechless. He told me that I do not need to say anything but YES. :)

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all that I am, in the only way I know how -- completely and forever......

In bed at the end of the first day of the year. We were cuddling and discussing how the day had gone, both the triumphs and the challenges. I said, "Will you spend the rest of your life with me?" He said, "Sure" and I pulled out a ring from under my pillow.

He jumped out of bed pulled a ring box out of his luggage and asked, "Will you be my girl?" I answered, "I already am." :luv:

We have the worst engagement story ever. We fought about going out for a nice dinner because I was full. He showered and told me we were going! I sat on the bed and flat ironed my hair, muttering about what an ### he was for forcing me to go out to dinner. He walked in the room with a towel on, and shoved a box in my face and I shoved it back. He got down on one knee and said "You're a real ### sometimes Lepine, but I love you, will you marry me?" I cried cause I'm such a ####### sometimes. I said yes.

We've been fighting ever since.

OMG, i love your story!

Well For my proposal, I knew one was coming, and he was all stressed to make it romantic and a big deal, because I am the romantic one, Him not so much.

So 1 rose once a blue moon is a big deal to him

Since I was aware that it was coming it made it harder on him, so i figured he would do it on the day we met, nothing happend so I guess the next would be the date we turn into a couple.

So I said that was a couple of days away.

So I suggested to go to the restaurant we ate at for the first time, We were set up by my co-workers, that said we make the perfect couple, I didn't want to go so my boss made me go on this lunch date.

So to celebrate that occasion   one year later i said just for fun lets have lunch there.

Since he was working turnarounds (working 16 hrs a day) it was hard to have lunch other that something real close to his work.

So we went he was running late,

I was sitting there waiting

He walks in with his hand behind his back

Says Hi Goes on One Knee

And he Had a single stem rose with a Dolphin (you know like teddy bears)

He hold the head of the Dolphin mimic like dolphin was talking and said:

Will you marry me.

I said Yes Dolphin I will marry you dolphin since you are asking

He Quickly changed, No No I am asking for him

And I said Yes

The Dolphin Because I loved Dolphins

My Engagement ring nothing fancy, Dolphin ring, just the way I wanted it

That was given to me after I choose it on his trip to back to Aruba
