Approximate Processing Dates, based on VJ timeline - Ref: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/

Petitions with NOA1 dates as follows are currently being processed: I-130 for IR1/CR1 & k-3 Visas:

VSC: May 18, 2008

CSC: August 3, 2008

Considering we haven't got new processing dates for USCIS, here's something to discuss / debate :innocent:

*k3 Visa*

08-10-2008: NOA1

03-05-2009: NOA2

05-18-2009: K3 visa approved (Mumbai Consulate)

05-22-2009: POE LAX

*IR Visa*

07-10-2008: NOA1

03-05-2009: NOA2

08-13-2009: IR1 visa approved (Montreal, Canada)

08-15-2009: POE LAX

I've often wondered if that was correct. I have to say that the "estimated processing date of your petition is___" was dead on for us.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

processing times are NEVER dead on, and mainly estimates..thats why it says Approximate Processing Dates

IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE SITE, PLEASE READ THE GUIDES BEFORE ASKING ALOT OF QUESTIONS. THE GUIDES ARE VERY HELPFUL AND WILL SAVE YOU ALOT OF TIME!

well....USCIS by January 15th may be giving announcement of been processed all May 2008 files-this is my assumption. in this way they will be almost near to 6-7months mark, and no june filers cant claim of being out of timeline..........

Thats what I was thinking... IF they post the dates now, they will get a flood of phone calls from all the appications out of the date range.

They have this time to catch up.

Does anyone know how long it takes to fly threw the system after you get an expedite approval?

I don't know about how long after an expedite. I think the expedite only gets you finished with the initial approval part. I don't think it does anything to get you through NVC or the consulate interview part faster.

There was one person that got expedited and at the consular level they were put into AP...so basically no benefit to them for the expedite. It all depends.

Timelines

To me, none of it matters. They are going to approve the application when they feel like it.

Even if you're past the USCIS posted processing dates, if they don't want to help you, they won't. How many times have people called them and they say, "I'm not showing you're past the date. The computer won't let me put in a request for you."

The best thing is to set your own deadline and have a plan B. If we don't get our approval by XXX then we're going to XXX.

I wish I requested the expedite months ago. WHAT WAS I THINKING?

My attorney said once we get the K-3 approval, things will move very fast. I have to submit another expedite request for the I-601 waiver approval. I am going to my attorneys office tomorrow morning to give him all the letters from my daughter's oncologist and Endocrinologist. The package is getting Fedex'd on Monday.

I am tired of waiting. I am sick of talkng on the phone instead of being with my husband. I know everyone else is in the same boat.

How long does the medical exam take? My husband was asking me and I didn't know what to tell him. I know they do blood tests.... so how long does it take to get the results? My husband is very "laid-back" I want to get an idea of how long all this takes so he gets his butt there and leaves himself enough time to get everything taken care of.

ALso, The packet that comes from the Embassy..... will it be in English or Spanish? The Embassy we need to go to is in Costa Rica.. My husband will do much better if the papers are in Spanish.

I read about someone in the very first days of joining VJ...that is why i am unable to provide exact name of that member...His/her application was expedited through out the process...and, here esposadetucho is in the absolute life and death situation, financial loss and so on...There are some ways to expedite in NVC I believe...Should be conveyed them(NVC) in the same way u gonna do it with the VSC...Best of luck...I have doubt, how many of them in COSTA RICA are put on AP? rarely...am I wrong? not sure...if not visa in hand within a week or so..(well I know, in this specific case, every day counts)

but, anyways..important thing is, approvals are coming...esposadetucho should get approval anytime soon even without the expeditation, I believe NVC ppl are more likely to be human beings unlike the VSC(who does not care about the emotion...), contact with them...

Good Luck

Sonia

My problem is that I need to file an I-601 waiver. We are dealing with a deportation too. The waiver goes to Honduras to be approved which could take FOREVER. I read it could take another 6-8 months. I also read that people who get approved for expediting, have been approved in a couple months. This entire process is so tiring.

I have to give them credit for one thing. They DO get expedite requests done very quickly. I have no idea about AP for Costa Rica. Sure, they usually do AP on the indo-paks, middle easterners, and phillipinos...but who knows? Costa Rica probably isn't a high chance country for an AP though.

Oh, damn! My best friend is married to an Indian guy. If I'm not mistaken they had to file an I-601 waiver for her husband. It was a waiver for someone who was deported, and I think she said it was 601. She has been waiting almost 2 years on her husband's waiver answer. She just got an email 2 weeks ago saying a decision was made and to wait for instructions from the consulate in India.

I hope they get your approval quickly! Your situation is very serious! Let your lawyer bust their a$$ and get it done!!!!
