Type II diabetes in the morning, then I show up for my road test in the afternoon, get the examiner out to the car with me and the wretched thing won't start. I guess it was just the battery's time to go. Rescheduled for Monday.

Shoot me now.

Sounds like the kind of day I have all the time! Last week I went, with my daughter, on a 7 hour round trip to collect my son's car from the shop, where it was being repaired after it rolled off a cliff onto a railway line - long story! lol

After being stopped for speeding - her nearly hanging herself by giving him all the information he needed to throw the book at her - "I only got stopped here, in the very same spot, for speeding not so long ago! I wasn't sure of the speed limit, so I slowed down to 50mph" (the limit was 40mph!!!). Luckily he let her off with a warning - probably felt sorry for her, being so dim and all.

Then half an hour down the road the car breaks down. We have to wait nearly 2 hours for AAA to come to our rescue. I was sitting in the passenger seat, minding my own business, as she was cussing and calling the car everything under the sun. It is actually quite a nice car but whenever it goes wrong, it's "a piece of sh*t"! lol

Young guy shows up with tow truck - says he thinks it may have run out of gas! Hahahahahahahaha! It was all I could do to contain myself! He takes us to the nearest gas station - puts $5 in it and away she goes. Sweet as a nut!

Yup! Some days just don't quite go as planned.

You'll be fine - and I'll lay money you'll pass Monday, no problem!

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

Awwwwwwwwww you poor darling... just hang in there ok...

my thoughts to you is to ensure you now keep your blood sugar levels down. You can do that through diet and exercise. Please do heed my words... there is diabetes in my mum's family and at least 3 of my uncles did not pay heed. They developed gangrene - all of them died young. It was so preventable.

I have a cousin from my dad's side who first had type II diabetes... he now has type 1 but he does not care... does nothing to control his diet or exercise. I fear for him.

I am not saying this to frighten you... I am saying this so that you can ensure you don't go that route... watch what you eat and go for a walk everyday and you will be ok.

My mum has never developed diabetes coz she has been careful for as far back as I can remember.

I can't seem to edit the post above... I had started out planning to phrase myself differently but changed my mind without re-phrasing the initial bit... now no amount of editing seems to change it... and since I loathe sounding like an idiot who can't string a sentence together I thought I should add this.

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Please... don't try sky-diving any time soon.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I think that could be a plan, Rich. I stayed home from work today *just in case*

(Actually I stayed home from work because I have some bug that's working its way through the company, so I'm hacking my lungs up instead. But hey, at least it's stopped raining today.)

Ok, I'm running a temperature of 101.6 Farenheit, my head feels like it's about to explode, I'm shaky and dizzy, I'm coughing up red and green stuff and my nose is pretty much non-responsive. Freezing cold, but my face is burning up. I feel like poop.

My husband has gone to do the shopping and he promised me a popsicle. Bless him! (L)

HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS..............I empathize with you dear....I have type 2 as well. I was dxd in Feb 2003 and it's been h*ll living with this dam disease. BUT...my beloved Joel is good to keep me in line and help me deal with it. There's so many recipes out there (yes, I love to eat :) ) that for everything you love to eat there's an alternative to it. Like chocolate and cheesecake...... :luv:
