Hi everybody,

I have been working more on the paperwork (I-130 and I-485) today and it seems like it could actually be done before the end of the month so hopefully my husband and I will be january filers!

I don't really know how to write the cover letter though. Do I need to make proper sentences? an introduction?

hi Leaandben

I'm going to write the cover letter today. I think I'll just put my name and alien number, then a couple of sentence explaining the case (AOS with EAD and AP from a K1) and then say "please find attached the following documents:" and list everything I send them.

bon courage! :)

OFFICIALLY JANUARY AOS FILER!!! Sent off AOS for me and my 2 kids via priority mail today :dance::dance: ... it was $2,210 for us + all the other related expenses so it is really hurting our pocket... not just hurt us, it left a BIG hole in our pocket. :crying: .. well, i just hope the process would be fast and problem free.... didn't submit I-693 though and just enclosed our vaccination record from K1 medical so we are half expecting RFE. ...I am hoping and praying that the adjudicator would just approve it without the need for I-693 just like some people.

Good luck to all of us. (((HUGS)))

Hi everyone,

We're back!

We filed our K1 in September 07, it was approved Feb 08, I moved down in June, we purchased our first home together in July and were married in August.

We've delayed doing our paperwork for long enough, so we're on a mission to have things off by the end of the month!

I hope this ends up being a smooth and quick process for us all!

hi fellas.. jus wana share, just got from DMV to take a permit but they told me my I-94 is already expired and they need to see an UNEXPIRED I.D. from the INS, can b the work permit they said.. so inshort, i need to wait for EAD to get a permit and license.

why oh my??? i thought as long as u married ur petitioner in the 90 day period, the expiration on the I-94 will b disolved.

question guys on the Financial support form with the aos, does it have to be really 3 most recent ITR or can it b just 2? tnx

hmm I guess it depends on your case but you should just have to file one of them only. not both.

I am filing for an advance parole document.

a re-entry is for somebody who already is a permanent resident or conditional resident.

i have never heard of the I-94 expiration invalidated just by marrying the petitioner, what i have heard and read though was that the out of status days we accrue after I-94 expiration will be forgiven once we file AOS as long as we marry our petitioner within the 90days from date of entry in the US. For those who have not gotten married within the 90day window, they will be accumulating out of status days which could spell being banned from coming to the US (for a number of years) once they are caught and gets deported, they also could not file AOS if they were not married to the original petitioner.

on the I-864 (affidavit of support) form, you only need to fill in the income for the past 3 years but it only require to submit the most recent ITR, the other 2 was optional.

oh i see..as for me i just wrote down dec 20, im not sure about it but i just put a random date, it wont matter anyway when u receive the Advance Parole. i still cant understand if i need to file AP and the re-entry permit or just either 1 of these 2.

in my understanding, AP is for people whose green card are still on process while re-entry is for green card holders (permanent residents) who will be out of the country for a year or more. even when we become permanent residents (in which case we wont need AP anymore) we will only be allowed a certain number of days to be out of the country.

hope i have helped.. good luck shes. God bless always.

Our AOS was delivered 2:11PM today according to USPS tracking :dance::dance:

I am being OC again, i will only feel relief once we get NOA1 and our check be cashed, till then there will always be the worry of our file getting lost or the check slipping of our folder and getting lost (i forgot to staple it :crying: )... i just hope they cash our check soon and we get NOA1 soon.
