I have one first name, 2 middle names, and two last names hyphenated.

It fits like that on the card so basically you have one more name than mine, probably why they couldnt fit them all

Lea xxxxx xxxxxx

xxxxxxx-xxxxxx

yeah, yours is shorter..man..i have a feeling of going back at the ssa to make it corrected..it will be way easier if they will let me type it on their system. geezz...

i got my card in married name! need to make sure they recorded it right though cus i have 3 names and it didnt fit on the card so better make sure they have it completed in their records. yeah im excited to apply and ofcourse land a job. i was an RN in the PI, and will apply as an RN here as well..

i think u can apply to a tax preparer as an accountant..thats very good and stable business now adays i think

RN has very high damand job market not only in US but everywhere! I'm sure you can get a job real soon. and woow you have 3 names? u mean 3 names in the middle or ??

Glo

it is common in the Philippines to have 2 first names or even three or four first names. Our middle name would always be our mother's maiden name.

Ex.1 Maria Kristina Cassandra Cuneta Concepcion: the "Maria Kristina Cassandra" are all considered part of the first name while Cuneta (the mom's maiden name) is the middle name and "Concepcion" (dad's last name/family name/surname) is the last name/family name.

Ex. 2 Kristina Bernadette Aquino Yap: "Kristina Bernadette" is the first name while "Aquino" (her maiden name/last name prior to marriage) is now the middle name since she has gotten married and "Yap" (her husband's last name) has become her last name.

It is probably confusing to others, esp to americans who do it a different way... in the same way that it was confusing to us Filipinos how the middle name is what we consider part of the first name and why US born citizens can't just take the mom's maiden name as the middle name. ... but well, we are all learning from each other and trying to adapt in the best way we can... even with the complexity of handling names. ;)

mine is like your ex. 1 ate. but mine is longer cus my middle name has a "DELA" like, DELA TORRES

Whoa, it sounds cool to have so many names. I dun have middle name only 2 first names.

Thanks everybody for your congrats. I just want to add a few facts. The officer didn't ask for birth certificates of me and Amy. He asked to see our ID, my passport, and our marriage certificate. He took my i-94, but he didn't take my AP or EAD. My lawyer said since they don't stamp anymore, they let you keep AP and EAD nowdays in case you need them before your gc arrives.

Glo, we had a very nice dinner at a japanese restaurant called sushi eyes on Elliot and Roosevelt. It was really good food. :)

Hi, guys, I just want you to know I was approved today. My appointment is at 12:30pm, and our lawyer told us to meet him in front of the building at 12:00pm. Me and Amy got there at 11:45am, and we tried to get into the waiting area, but the security guard told us that the officers are having lunch break and asked us to come back at 12:25pm. So we went down to wait our lawyer. While we were waiting, there was another couple coming in, and we told them that the security didn't let us in. So they waited with us for a few mins. And as they decided to go up to try, our lawyer came, and we went up together. Our lawyer explained to the guard that he emailed the officer and asking him to interview us earlier as he had a court to go to at 1pm. So the security let us in but not the other couple, which made me feel good about having a lawyer. We were called in around 12:15pm. Our officer was a young male, and he was pretty professional and respectful the whole time. He swore us in really quick, then asked us our DOB, where we were born, the standard questions. He asked when we got married, and how we met, how long did we date before we got married. Then he asked us if we had set up a joint account, and utility bills. And he flipped through our photos, and commented on two pictures of the dishes we had on a date. Then he approved us after that, explained lifting the condition in two years. My lawyer asked him if he had lunch already, he said he hadn't taken a break today, then Amy joked about how those dishes must look really good to him. He said yes, and laughed. We were in and out for about 10 to 15 mins. I was really worried when he was checking my passport and looking at my canceled visa, but he didn't ask any questions related to that. Anyway, I am really happy now, and I am gonna have a nice dinner with Amy and our friends tonight to celebrate. Thanks for all the help and support from the VJers. Wish everyone good luck on their journey.

Amy & Xin,

I LOVE Sushi and I heard Sushi Eye have very fresh sushi but expensive. I'm gonna try it out tonight cuz I just received my GC. It's so shiny at the back and I can't believe I'm finally done with USCIS for awhile. I'm just thrilled for no need to bring my passport around anymore!!! Every time we went to bar or order alcohol I had to explain them where to look for my age!!! OMG I'm so happy and thank you for everyone who have been very supportive and I'm soooo look forward to see all of us having a gc on hand!!!:dance::dance:

Cheers, :star:

Hi, Glo,

Hi, it was kinda expensive, 75 dollars for 3 persons, but we had a lot of food. It seems like to take you 10 days to get your card, i think that is probably what I should expect. Congrats on your GC. :)

Take your EAD and take your passport and a copy of your marriage certificate just in case. When they ask what status you are you must check legal resident... Anyway check online for an application form to see the questions asked.

I received the welcome letters(more like official approval notice) today, hopefully, I will receive the green card sometime next week.

Take your EAD and take your passport and a copy of your marriage certificate just in case. When they ask what status you are you must check legal resident... Anyway check online for an application form to see the questions asked.

Well kcoyclay1

It's your big day next  Wish you guys all the luck and just be your self!
