Hello! Hope your weekend is going well.

Whidbey - Guess What?!?!? Tonight I purchased a quart of goat milk. How was it? Ummm ... let's say that my efforts to try to eat better is not exactly going to happen at this moment.:no: But .. I tried. ;)

Did you get it at the store or fresh from a farm? The way I got back used to it after not having it for 10 years was to drink it with NesQuik.

I got it from the grocery store. I may try it with NesQuik. For me it left a foul odor in my mouth. I had to immediatley go to the bathroom and brush my teeth again. I noticed you stated that you stopped drinking it for 10 years. Why was that?

My Rieki Instructer has goats on her farm She has given me some chèvre. I have not tried it yet. I plan on buying some Milk from her for my husband. I stick with the skim. I did hear on an Operah that Goats milk was extreemly good for you.

Mrs. J. if you (or anyone else) tries it, let me know what you think.

ALL things work TOGETHER for GOOD!

Farm fresh is SO much better than the store bought!!!! I moved away from the farm for 10 years so didn't have access to fresh milk.

The problem with store milk is the pasteurization and homogonization processes. They kill a lot of the good things in the milk and I think it really messes with the taste too. I understand for safety reasons they have to do this for mass market, but if you find a farm go check it out and see the process they use for their milk. The biggest things are cleaning the milk by running it through a filter (like a coffe filter) into GLASS jars and QUICKLY into the refrigerator. Other factors are check to see that the males aren't kept with the milking does or even near them as the wonderful male smell is VERY potent and can effect the taste.

I have noticed unpasterized milk at Whole Foods. I was surprised at first because I thought it was illegal. But thanks to google, I see that it is legal in about 25 states. I think it was about $9 for 1/2 gallon.

OMG that makes my milk at $10/gallon seem cheap!

Hopefully I will once again gather the courage to try it again. This time, fresh from the farm.

Ditto! Great news, ladies!

Hey, Boaz. We're filing ROC in about a month. Have you noticed any patterns among the ROC VJers? Specifically, we didn't have an AOS interview and I was wondering if that means we are more likely to have a ROC interview.
