I came to the US with K3 visa. I read the guides about filling for EAD and it shows three options:

1. While holding a valid K3,

2. at the same time as filling for AOS,

3. after filling for AOS

How long it takes and how much each option costs ?

When can I apply for SSN ? Is it after or before filling AOS?

It can take upto 90 days to get EAD & AP (more in some cases). We applied for SSN before filing for AOS, but didn't receive the SSN till after applying for it.

Except that K3 holders don't need AP, yes the least expensive and fastest way is to file for EAD and AOS together.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

When you get your EAD or GC!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

K3 has to wait for EAD card to apply for SSN.

Added note: A K1 can apply after about 2 weeks in the country. Your entry from POE has to be in the system, so that's why you wait. If they can't find you, it's best to just go back in a few days and try again.
