Kind of off topic, but my husband still laughs at me when I pull out a written recipe. He's got it all up in his head -- I don't think I've ever seen him read a recipe, and I'm sure his mom doesn't. But I like the security of having it in front of me so I don't forget anything, although I have memorized some of my husband's favorites. I also really enjoy trying new recipes, especially when friends recommend them.

Late last night, my husband started digging in the fridge. I asked him if he was going to cook something, and he said, "Oh, no." I saw him pull out the leftover turkey and start slicing a tomato, so I thought he'd show up on the sofa with a sandwich. Next thing I know, I hear the skillet sizzling, and a few minutes later, he comes in with a yummy concoction of turkey, eggs, jalapenos, olives, tomatoes, spices, and I don't know what else. But apparently that didn't count as cooking. :rolleyes:

OOOOOOh Amal i am so jazzed i have to check my mail box for my books!!! I have sunday off perhaps i'll start cooking tomorrow if it's in there today yipppppppeeeee and if i get to it i will post a pic insh'aallah thanks again for all your hard work!

i just got my book yesterday and was very impressed, it did come out very nice. I know any of you would find it useful and a small reminder of your friends on VJ for the rest of your lives. You did a good job Amal :thumbs:

thanks for the thought brnid. I wouldn't dream of asking for more money than I already asked for. It's totally my own fault for not estimating better. I originally thought it would be about 100 pages so that would have come out right. When it got up to 200 pages and we already had to increase the price once...I just couldn't ask for any more. Just consider it a christmas bonus from me :) I love you guysngals!

I think that's a sweet gesture, but Amal... I really would feel better if you weren't alone taking the brunt of the excess expense! no no, I really want no compensation from it. I just want you to like the books and put them to good use. If that happens, then it is money well spent B) If I would have been smart, I would have guestimated over what I thought it would be but I didn't want to charge too much....I guess that happens to a lot of first time sellers lol. I know now for next time that I need to charge just a little bit more to cover the shipping. Lesson learned. I'm totally content with it and want you all to be too. You're too sweet!
