I'v only got about 4/5lbs left to go but I know that's going to get put on hold over Christmas. I'm hoping to maintain my weight then continue after Christmas. I want to get down to my ideal weight so my wedding dress can be made.

I've changed my lifestyle as my diet. Not for the wedding but for my general health (mental and physical) well-being.

What have you found works best?

I just tend to eat healthy, Weetabix for breakfast, plenty of fruit during the day and either soup, salad or couscous for lunch, then a main meal in the evening. I still have chocolate but it's in moderation. I get bad skin sometimes so I found this diet works wonders for that.

I don't like ready meals and rarely eat anything that has to be pinged in the microwave. I've found the secret to be good, wholesome homemade food. I don't exercise at the moment so I'm on healthy food overload.

I walk about an hour a day for exercise. Generally I have porridge or cereal or a hash brown for breakfast, soup and a bread roll for lunch and then grilled meat and veg for dinner. I have been treating myself to a starbucks coffee with gingerbread syrup, but otherwise I'm not a snacker really. What I find is I struggle with cravings though. Have you?

Chocolate is my biggest craving, however sometimes I crave cereal, pizza or wierdly cheese. I've found with the chocolate I can't just cut it out completely or I crave it even more so usually at the weekend I'll have a large bar of Cadbury's or a bag of chocolate buttons. If I crave chocolate during the week I'll usually have a low fat hot chocolate, the powered stuff that you just add hot water too.

As soon as I get to the US I'm going to the gym with Tom. I don't go at the moment as it's so expensive and I don't like going by myself.

I belong to Curves here. (I highly recommend it) But I don't get to go as my membership is in Edinburgh and the company has me based in Coventry at present, and there is not one close to me. (its only £29 a month though) There is one in my town though, so I'll start going again when I move across.

I am happy to see so many of you joining me here , yayyy... I get weighed in tomorrow at the weight watchers meeting so then I will post my first weeks lost. I have to keep telling myself its not going to be a large amount like it would have been if I had just started dieting. I will be happy if I have lost 2 more pounds so keeping my fingers crossed.

Weight watchers is a great program and people have used it forever but I have to say I am not loving it LOL. While in England I lost more but as alot of you know there is a lot of walking involved there where as here we jump in the car for everything. Its a long walk to the store here to get my smokes where as in England the shop was right down the road.

Congrats to all that has lost weight and Good luck to the rest of your journeys. I wont make my goal by my wedding but I will get as close to it as I can. I am lucky though that Keith loves me for who I am and size doesnt matter to him what so ever and to be honest when I am in his arms I am small , Keith is 6'4 and I am only 5'2 so he calls me his little short ####### hehe. I am doing this weightloss journey for myself. This is the difference from the past. Before I was doing it for others, thinking if I was skinny people would like me better, If I was skinny I would fit in and you know what it doesnt make a difference. I am the same person on the inside no matter what I way so Now I am doing this to make me feel better about myself and to be healthier. My father died at the age of 46, he had cancer , god I miss him .. well I turned 46 this year and it made me think how young he was to go and how much he missed out on and I am going to live healthier for me and for him. :)

And oh by the way... I miss chocolate buttons !!! I miss wheatabix !!!! I want to come back to England !!!! hehe

Lets keep track of what and how we are doing.. Weight loss when you weigh in.. even if it is a gain, we can support each other.. If we do good on exercise lets post it and if we are having a bad day and need someone to pull us back up then lets give it .. Weight loss is a hard thing to accomplish but with the help of friends and support from each other we can all make our goals.. Our dreams are coming true with our loves coming home soon so lets make another dream come true and get FIT

What does any one think of the Options Hot Chocs?

That's the one I drink, my favourite flavours are Orange, Mint and Coconut. I prefer it over High Lights.

Hiya,

I am dieting for my wedding. I have been dieting for over 3 years now and have lost 128 pounds but I still have 40 to lose sooo I thought it might be fun to start up a dieters thread here for all of us girls and guys that are trying to lose weight before our big day. Anyone want to join me on this adventure.

I have done many things over this journey including atkins, low fat and am now on weight watchers for the final lap of it. I figured that atkins helped me to lose the bulk of it , lowfat made me eat alot lol and weight watchers is more of a normal lifestyle.

If anyone wants to join me with this, I will keep updates as I weigh in every week even if its a bad one lol. I believe that support helps alot and if we are all keeping a record of it here it might just keep us on track , I have found the cutest wedding dress and in order to wear it I need to drop some more sooo come on ladies and gents join me :)

Chelle

that is fantastic  you go girl and keep up the good work!!

Give Generously, Live Fully, Laugh Often, Love Completely...AND PRAY ALWAYS!!!

I didn't try to lose weight before the wedding, but because of nerves, running around doing stuff and just generally being more pre-occupied with wedding stuff, I lost probably about 20-25 pounds. The seamstress doing my dress had to adjust it twice and even then, the day of the wedding I was able to slip my dress over my head without unzipping it first. It shouldn't have fit that way, but it didn't matter.

Stress makes me gain weight. Recently, I moved to a place where there isn't much noise (as I work teh night shift) and it has really helped me with getting rested and undisturbed sleep. I didn't go on diet. I noticed however that my cravings are not as bad compared to when I usually don't have enough sleep.

Do away from stress until the wedding day is my key to losing weight. I have lost 10 pounds in 1 and 1/2 months.

Congratulations on your weight loss. I didn't diet before my wedding, i figure if i'm not in my best shape and he still wants to marry me, then he's a keeper :P

I'm definitely considering giving atkins a try to lose the baby fat after ben is born. I was always afraid, because I always thought atkins is more for people that wants to lose a significant amount of weight, and I always wanted to lose 5, 10 lbs only. But I can definitely live without pasta, bread and I absolutely love protein

Sooo today was the end of my first week on weight watchers. I went to the meeting early this morning and then came the dreaded scales , well I had hoped to lose at least 2 lbs and to my surprise I lost 6.2 pounds !!!! I never expected that so needless to say I was very happy with this. It gave me the motivation to keep going and I keep telling myself that by the time keith comes home he will be surprised , I have decided that I am not going to let him see me other then my face on cam of course. If I need to get up and move around I will just pause the cam lol he wont notice ... I want to surprise him so this will be fun. Keith loves me for who I am but as I said I am doing this for me and I want him to carry me over the threshold like I see in movies.. :)
