i stole christmas?

who's the one encouraging people not to shop and to consume less?

please!

I'm the one encouraging consumption by purchasing greener products and you're the one saying you can't do it. You are either with us or against us. Christmas - love it or leave it.

These items are mostly impracticle, don't provide useful amount of light, particularly if they use LED's, and if you need to crank your radio for power you were'nt prepared to start with......

Mr. Fancypants.......I could, and would never recommend these novelty items given they mostly don't work, and their performance is exaggerated in ads.

Riiiight, Kaydee...just like you saying that investing in solar and other renewable energy is a waste of time.

I don't buy green products. I always think about the glee it would cause to some dorky envirogeek and I just can't get myself to pull the trigger. Under no circumstances can I tolerate any action of mine providing comfort to those freaks.

Why don't you and Kaydee get a room and get it over with.

We've been around this corner before. You simply don't understand. Please buy some Solar Panels for 20K, sell your energy back to the local power company, and in 10 years or so you'll recover your capital costs.......

Greenies are ignoramuses....

It's just my opinion but I think way too many people are caught up in the "marketing of Green" than actually living in the spirit of it.

What the hell is the purpose of buying a wind-up flashlight, if you live in a 2000 Sqft house?

Is it not self deception?

Anyway, I take pretty big measures to conserve energy use, not because I am trying to SAVE THE PLANET.. but for a less lofty reason, I am trying to save a few bucks.

I actually tried one of those flashlights in a store and it seem to take a lot of work to keep the thing going, perhaps a great gift for a fat friend?

There are a ton of folks out there (and right here) who love that little warm feeling they get when they buy Green products.... corporations know this and now they are using this in their marketing plan.

Does anyone really think that buying a bottle of "green" glass cleaner is going to improve the earths water quality? If you are really serious about water...... why don't you start with getting rid of that toilet in your house which consumes about 2 gallons of clean drinking water each time you take a wizz?

I have tried a few products such as Paint and some cleaners that are suppose to be good for the enviro, none work as good as the regular stuff (and they are always more money)...although I am told the water based finishes for floors and such has vastly improved.

What can I say, if setting the A/C in the summer up to 80 degrees and the heat down to 65 in the winter is asking too much of you, then go ahead and buy "green" products if they make you feel like a better human.

here it's 79 during the summer and 69 during the winter - when someone is home. otherwise it's 83 and 62 (and 62 at night also).

I have a small hand cranked flashlight for the car and it's really bright. I went into the store looking for a regular flashlight to keep in the car and saw this which was cheaper than a battery powered one.

The shaker flashlights are actually quite bright, and easy to use. Just shake it a few times and you have light for about an hour. Same with the wind up ones. They're better to have around IMO than battery flashlights just for emergency purposes alone, nevermind the "green" value of it. Ever had a blackout and gone to get the flashlight only to find the batteries are dead? Or on the side of the highway in the dark with a flat tire and no flashlight? Keep the wind up one or shaker one and you don't have that problem. And the light is bright enough and wide enough to see just as well as any other light IMO. We use ours all the time while walking the dogs at night. And we have biodegradable poop pick-up bags for them too :P

Say all you want about hippy tree huggers, but "going green" actually SAVES YOU MONEY.
