CJ Gator, Thanks for this insight. I wish my lawyer had this kind of information for me, perhaps would have stayed with her.

Was your attorney able to give any clear explanation as to why it's been taking so long? Is there anything else besides simply too many applications versus too little manpower?

Also has anybody a clue as to why K-3 visa petitions and the accompanying I-130s are not being transfered to CSC like the stand-alone I-130's? Or why I-129F's and I-130's for K-3 are not being processed separately?

I understand these are difficult questions to answer but if anyone knows anything about it I'm all ears.

CJ Gator, can you tell me where I can find the estimates that you're referring to, those you made a few weeks ago, or can you repeat them? I am a late March filer for I-130 and early April for I-129F.

Thanks!

You always make me laugh, Lisa.

For you and Narnia, and all of the rest of us who slog on..

I got news today from my imm. attorney, that does not provide me great hope for the upcoming couple of weeks. He knows a few on the inside at VSC, and he called me today because he knows how long I have been waiting. His inside contacts come from his days as a former USCIS imm. judge. He said that, based on the feedback he got from 2 agents at VSC that he knows well, they are not likely to be finished with March approvals by the end of this month. He expects that the next USCIS processing times update will not be moved ahead to April.

I am going to see Natasha the first week of Jan.

It is looking more and more like my estimate I calculated a couple of weeks ago will be correct. Crazy.

All the best to you. Take care, and stay strong.

CJ-G

Oh Vermont service center,

Dont you dare compare yourself to California

We all know they have half the work and twice the staff

You have a very special crew

Do continue with what it is you do

If you start to doubt,

just remember how many naturalizations you turn out!

u are all ungrateful. as for me, I know VSC changed my life. what was I before VSC? the kind of normal person, working mon-fri, running errands, waiting for the weekend to come, enjoying weekends, hating mondays, hoping for short fridays. not much fun. but since crossing path with VSC, I am changed. my whole view changed. I love mondays, when I imagine the VSC engine starting to move, I wish for long fridays, I hate weekends when nothing moves. I am not wasting weekends having fun anymore. no, I am counting the hours for monday to come. I dont let any day pass without spiritualy evolving either. I developed new ways to pray, hope, curse, read fortune, my bag of superstitions increased, i almost invented spells, I watch for signs, I keep all my lucky items with me all the time... thinking to get a voodoo kit soon. just if now VSC wouldnt screw up and end this enlightening phase in my life, in 2-3 months I am sure Id develop a teleporting machine too. I d get there, Id get rich. the way I see it, if Id get approved now, would be just VSC in the way of my spiritual evolving and inventions. and Id be forced to go back to the small routine of enjoying life. and whats worse, I might get normal again.

I bet on 3 approvals and I really hope none of those will be mine.

and to share from my useful set of superstitions, we think nothing that starts in a tuesday has a happy ending. no monday approvals, so I hope nothing will happen today either.

 I SOOOOO love your posts!!!!

You're right. I must be a better person than this... I'm going to go repent for my ingratitude. Thank you for enlightening me!

Sanku, hi. Yeah, the formula is based on how many days VSC has moved ahead in their processing times since their mid-july report, up until the the November posting. Basically, one day of VSC time equals 2.54 days in the real world. So, to move ahead one day on the VSC calendar, you have to move 2.54 days in the real world. For my K3, with a March 28 I-130 and April 4 I-129F NOA 1's, I had estimated that my approval would come sometime around the second week of January.

Lisa and Narnia, tell everyone else it's my fault I broke the "VSC love" mojo. So, they can be mad at me. Ok, if this helps, I love VSC people so much I will be happy to marry them all, but on one condition. Natasha gets to process their K3 Visa applications.

Thanks CJ Gator.

So as of 11/18/08, the VSC is at 3/7/08 for I-130. My NOA1 is 3/20/08, a difference of 13 real world days. I take this, multiply by 2.54 and I get 33 VSC days. I add 33 VSC days to 11/18/08 and I get 12/21/08. So based on the math I should be expecting an NOA2 sometime around last week December/the first week of January?

I have underestimated the life a lot, now I know better! Imagine that I can cook what food I want, I do not need to reconcile. When we applied, it was 60 days for a NOA2, Today I have enjoyed over 232 days from the day we had applied! Thanks Vermont, I very proud over your work. I wait to my day come, next year 2009! I have time to wait! Dont hurry only for me!

Keep it up USCIS/VSC! I hope I don't get approved.

I thought we'd be done with everything in 6-8 months per my former attorney and we're nearing 9 months without any approvals. I should not have had such high expectations of VSC. That's my fault, not theirs! Take a year if you must VSC!

I look forward to having to now plan a trip to India I never planned to make. I look forward to spending our first anniversary in India instead of in the US. I look forward having to explain everyone there why this has taken so long and they still won't understand. Maybe with what's going on in the US it may be just the refresher I need. Importantly, I look forward to having to work to mend all the emotional damage created as a result of this neverending wait, I hope it will. USCIS/VSC gets credit for all of this.

Alas, there's many benefits of this wait! Daily stress, a feeling of nothingness (Buddha once said "When you go into the space of nothingness, everything becomes known", putting the most of the rest of my life on hold, big phone bills but most importantly getting to know a ton of ppl going through the same thing through VJ.

None of this would have been possible without VSC!! There's absolutely no reason for me to be angry at VSC and USCIS. Thanks!

My guess is on 3 approvals this week.

Sanku, to answer the other question you asked me, my atty said he believes the problem comes from the fact that Vermont has not recovered from having applications that used to go to the Texas Service Center being moved to Vermont at the beginning of this year. He said it was just his speculation.

Svetlana, I dont reall know what to answer. as I think now, I would go with the I130, if they get approved same time. not to deal with waitings again. but who knows what impulse ill have then? this process damaged my thinking logic skills. forced me to adapt to chaos. maybe i just go to interview and say ty for yr visa, but u can keep it, my husband moved to europe. wouldnt be so surprising, as it seems they give us a lot of time to put order in our lives and consider all options. even the crazy ones, because who is really sane after dealing with our beloved VSC?
