Desi - Keep checking with operators every night. Your case should already be with them but possibly they didn't enter into the system. I too believe that NVC will pick up after 5th which is not far :)

I will have to. It's frustrting, but I can understand it's due to holidays.

Any progress on yours?

My I-129 was sent to Mumbai on Monday. The AVR has no records for my I-129F. My I-130 has been entered in the system but no generation of DS-3032 or AOS bill yet. NVC is working today and I hope that they can get to your case today. If not, just couple more days and holidays are over.

its funny how we all are praying for the holidays to be over so USCIS/NVC can get their butts to work. on the other hand, the whole world is in the holiday fever and never wants it to end. :)

LOL, that's funny but true. With that said, I do want the New Year to arrive faster (in hours) and get them people back in the office. I guess that's a little bit of selfishness...

I still don't have an interview date...this is getting pretty annoying. I hope they assign one soon. Any ideas guys?

Hey CJ - I had an NVC operator tell me that the NVC only schedules interviews the second week of each month. Has anyone else been told that? This motivated me to push Naples to request our file which they did and they received it today. I thought our I-130 file might make it to Naples on its own (after NVC scheduled the CR-1 interview) in time for the K-3 interview but after talking to the operator I realized that probably wouldn't happen. Now all we have to do is call Naples next week and request that our Jan. 20 K-3 interview be switched to a CR-1. I hope that NVC operator was wrong and that you will hear something soon!

Thanks Daniele and Jen. I just e-mailed Mumbai Consulate again to see if they can ask NVC to ship the case over and also indicated that I'd like to use the Feb 11 slot for the CR1 case. Let's see what happens.

NVC only schedules interviews during the first 2 weeks of the month...your case complete on the 16th just missed the close-date.

Your Embassy may or may not request that NVC send your file ahead...but you can advise NVC that

you have an appointment (your K-3 interview) and if you get to a supervisor (as well as send an email)

they should be able to insure that your case arrives in time for the K-3 interview.

Once you're at the Embassy, you shouldn't have any problem requesting that they change the K-3 to a CR-1 interview.

I paid both the AOS and IV bills yesterday. Both were confirmed as "PAID" this morning. I printed out the bar codes and shipped both the AOS and IV packages and they should get there on Friday. Hopefully the case completes quickly and I'm in the NVC's interview scheduling window.

How long does it take for NVC to complete a case, assuming nothing's wrong with what I have sent?

Tax transcripts are "received and accepted" copies of your tax returns from the IRS. The current year's tax return is required, other years are optional.

Tax transcripts are "received and accepted" copies of your tax returns from the IRS. The current year's tax return is required, other years are optional.

so in that case, when they generate my AOS I should send the following:

- Tax returns for 2008 (I plan on sending the AOS package after I file taxes for 2008 as I would rather play it safe than sorry. I figure, they havent generated my case number yet or the DS-3032 so by the time they are ready to generate my AOS and IV bill, its already going to be almost the 2nd week. So I will miss the interview dates for Feb anyway. This will give me enough time to file taxes for 2008 and then file AOS worry free, hopefully finishing by end of Jan to be set for a March interview)

- Tax returns for 2007 and 2006

- Tax transcripts for 2007, 2006

- Employment letter from my employer

- Pay stubs for the last 6 months

Is that going to be all?

oh and yes, I can file I-864 EZ also right?? i am an independent filer only petioning for wifey. i dont have any children or anything. very straight forward case.

I'm also confused re: returns and transcripts.

How long does it typically take to get the transcript? I will likely also be filing my '08 return (online) to avoid complications from my '07 return. Will I have to wait to receive the transcript or can I send in just the return (and W-2s) with the understanding that no transcript has been generated as the return was just filed? I really want to complete the NVC in time for the February interview scheduling session. Waiting for W-2s in order to file and then an official transcript to send with AOS would probably bump me past the first two weeks of February...thoughts?

You can just send the transcripts for 2007 and 2006 (along with your 2008 return).

You have to fill in your income for '07 and '06 on the I-864, abut transcripts are optional.

Someone asked how long it takes to get transcripts...I have no idea. Requested mine around July 2008, and still haven't received them.

My wife's POE with CR-1 Visa was Dec. 11th.....if the transcripts come now, they'll just be recycling fodder.
