Are you telling me that 'ivy league' kids generally behave the same as kids who have grown up in a ghetto. Come on now..

Just the other day I was in Arlington, VA and noticed two groups of teenagers. One group looked like they were from a decent area, 'ivy league' potential kids, and the other looked like they were from Brooklyn, NY. (based on the bus they got off and their accent).

I'll give you one guess which group was respectful to the dead and well behaved while the other had the I am 'ghetto cool' attitude.. Surprisingly the two girls who rudely pushed in front of me and had that what what attitude were hispanic..

so. for 2 girls that were rude.. all ghetto kids are rude? excuse me but i've met the cockiest and rudest people and u know what, they are filthy rich and study in private college.. in the other hand.. i know people from 'the ghetto' and they are very nice and humble.. also, technically my dad is from a 'ghetto' (little poor town in mexico), and, he's one of the most educated man u'll ever meet

OH GAWD TRacy I was just gonna say that...Craig mentions that all! the time...not saying any worse than here..just saying it's for SURE not just a US problem... it's not a nationality problem, it's not a age problem, it's not a poverty-level problem. People are different, that's all there is to it. A 'ghetto kid' might be brought up in a slum with an alcoholic single parent and go on to want better for themselves..be well behaved, graduate college with help from scholarships(or working..whatever) and a spoon-fed rich white girl might end up out on the street doing drugs and stealing. A lot of factors come into play for every kid....

It's not NEARLY all, but a great deal to do with parenting as well...being involved in your kids lives, knowing where they are and who they're with, what they're doing(all to the best of your ability..they can get sneaky as we all know!) makes a big difference...and what the parents will put up with. There are a couple of kids in Corey's class who tell their mothers to f off on a regular basis..Corey knows not to even TRYYYYYYYYY to THINK about going there....he wouldn't anyway..he gets sassy like most kids, but he knows his limits and he sticks by them..or else!!!! M.

I just read a study on people who worked in customer service who had been verbally or physically abused ... it found that the attackers were most likely to be middle-aged white women, and least likely to be teenagers. It was on the BBC website so I assume the study was done in Britain, but still.

I just read a study on people who worked in customer service who had been verbally or physically abused ... it found that the attackers were most likely to be middle-aged white women, and least likely to be teenagers. It was on the BBC website so I assume the study was done in Britain, but still.

I worked in customer service throughout college (to pay the bills), both on the phone and customer service desk, and I personally found most white women to be easy to deal with. My worst customers were mostly overweight females with children.. both black and white. Right now I'm in a customer-facing IT position and my worst customers here are Asian. They ask too many damn questions

You've hit the nail on the head, but there is something to say about the underage drinking in the UK. Kids are in pubs drinking until they are smashed at 15, which leads to a lot of yob behavior. Not saying that kids in the US don't do that, but you won't find them in a bar as much. Also, so many parents (in all countries) find it "too much work" to follow through on consequences. The kids get away with more and think that they should be able to do what they want, when they want, and act out to anyone who questions their "authority". Not all kids, but more than 10 years ago!
