Congrats on the progress everyone and good luck on the interview tomorrow Soancika.

I got my EAD today, but am a little worried as I can't find any job postings in my profession. At all. Nothing. I think I will have to downgrade a little and try to find whatever is possible, admin jobs or so, just to get busy.

I am worried about evidence of financial mingling. We were a bit slow and did not really join accounts, etc. I have bills in both our names though. I guess it is absolutely necessary to have a joint account and try to do the joint taxes before the interview, right? Or is health insurance and bills enough? I mean, the interview came too fast!

Thank you !

Once you are approved you can get a stamp in your passport immediately and can use that to work. If they need additional info (like tax returns or something they asked you for during interview and you did not have it at the interview) then you have to provide that info before they approve you and send your GC. As soon as you are approved you can get a stamp as proof. Hope that helps.

That definitely helps, thanks!

So you think the stamp would also work for traveling abroad?

I got the GC stamp in my passport in 2003. Stamp says, "Processed for I-1551. Temporary evidence of lawful admission for permanent residence. Valid until _____. Employment authorized." Then they write the date the stamp is put in passport. Stamp is valid for 1 year so I am guessing if you absolutely have to travel you could use it. But usually when you get stamp your Green card is literally a week or two away. It's not usually far behind.

We have more good news! I met Dennis, my mom, and one of my brothers for lunch right after work (I get off work at 1pm). I walked up to the table and Dennis said "I tried to text you a picture, but it didn't work...so I'll just show you in real life!" Then he handed me his EAD card! :) Woo-hoo!! Now he can find a job instead of sitting around the apartment being bored. :dancing:

And everyone who is still waiting...we have no on-line updates to either EAD or AP. The AP shows last updated 12/12, the EAD is 12/31...so keep your hopes up, there is definitely something wrong with CRIS updates. The EAD and AP could be on their way to you right now! :flower:

Congrats!!! Joy joy.. lots of folks got it so that is good :) Moving along nicely.....

Hey guys!!!!

We have been approved today!!! Whoo hoooo :dance:

Our inetrview was scheduled at 10:40,the officer called us in about 11:05, and we were out in less than 10 min. The couple before us spent probably about 35 min. in the officers room.

Everything went very smoothly. We both were relaxed, and our officer was nice and friendly.

He asked me all YES and NO questions from the I-485, and then he asked those questions:

1) If i still lived at the same address,

2) How I came here,

3)Is this my first marriage,

4) If I had any children,

5) Do I work,

6)How we met

7) Did my parents come to our wedding.

And that was it. He asked those questions while going thru our petition at the same time. Very casually. Complemented my english, asked if its was cold in my country.

The questions he asked my husband:

1) If he was still at the same job,

2) If it was he's first marriage and asked if he had any children,

3)How we met and for how long we had been together

Talked about cars for a little (my husband is a car sales manager) and skiing.

Did not ask for any bona fide marriage proof, nothing (we had a ton). I guess it was enouth what we sent in.

Took my EAD and I-94, stamped my passport with and said that the actual card will arrive in 2-3 weeks and told us about removing conditions.

We are soooo happy!!! Could luck to everyone else with their interviews! Just smile and be relaxed!

The immigration specialist of my state senator called me this afternoon but i missed it so she left a voice message. She said that she made an inquiry to the USCIS regarding my I-485 and I-765 and was told that my EAD was approved on 12/12/09 and that the USCIS is waiting for the result of my biometrics (which i did today) to be sent back to them so that the production of the EAD card will be ordered. As far as my I-485, the USCIS told her that they're processing it and will be forwarder to the local USCIS office soon. I was very happy with this news that I replayed the voice message like a hundred times, LOL. I just hope the biometrics result will be sent back to the USCIS ASAP, cant wait to receive my EAD. but what I'm hoping for the most is that I'll have my interview before April ends because we'll be moving to Texas on the last week of that month. **still crossing fingers**
