Our visa was approved

Our visa was approved. We had 3 sessions of questions, The CO interviewed us together, she asked if we had any changes to our situation since our last interview. She asked to see pictures. We pulled out 2 big binders with pictures and info that I had collected over the years. She asked how many people attended our wedding- we answered and handed her the pictures. We submitted letters from my two older kids. She read them and returned the letters. She asked about the number of kids we have, we told her we have 4 kids total. She then infromed us that we would be interviewed separately and she wanted to interview Dee first, took about 10 minutes, she called me into the building and sent Dee to sit outside. She asked me how we meet, did Dee send me any money, did I send Dee any money, how many times did I visit Dee in 2007, and in 2008, why did my visits decrease in 2008? She asked me to return to my seat outside and called Dee back inside. She asked him about my arrival to Dakar and what we did when I arrived. She sent him back to his seat outside and called me in. She ask me what time did I arrive in Dakar, who meet me at the airport, where did we go when we left the airport, how did we travel and what we ate? She then interviewed us together, and she said she saw no reason to hold the visa up and gave us a green ticket to come back. Once we were packed up and walking out she call us back to the window and asked Dee if he had applied for a visa before, he said yes that he had applied for a visa to visit Cee. She said there is a problem because you did not use a middle name on that application and on your CR1 petition you used a middle name. She said that she would have to do name cross checks before she could issue a visa. My heart dropped. So we did not know if the visa was approved. We went to the hotel to review his tourist visa application and we did not use his middle name, so we had to come up with some reasons why the name was not used and prepared our selves for another interview. We arrived at the embassy for our appointment. They made us wait for 2 hours before calling us. A lady called us to the window and asked for our ticket and she grabbed the envelope from the box and I knew we were getting the visa. Thank God for that one :dance: :dance:

That tourist visa name thing took me right back to our problem. You were lucky, no blessed, for them to issue the visa anyway.

Because of a typo and name with v instead of ph on a tourist visa application, Dakar made us do a waiver process which adds 1 - 1/2 years and thousands of dollars to our already long journey.
